Just in case you were wondering United were playing a back five.... a back five..

"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

              Brutal this from McNulty.

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Media driving the narrative that this are United at their lowest point and that ten Hag is going to come in and revitalise the club.

                Lets ****ing hope not!

Watching United in this state is an absolute joy to behold. Long may their ****ness continue

Exactly! Watching them win everything in the 90s and 2000s was such torment, long may this continue. Another 10 years please, and that won't be long enough

Big rebuild on his hands tho I think, if you look at that squad as it currently is, how many of them are actually fit to wear their shirt? Attracting the right players will not be easy, especially if they miss out on top 4 again, and to get a player in you will either have to pay mercenary wages or get them to buy into the vision of the club, and at the moment that vision needs the Hubble telescope to be seen clearly.

Is ten Hag the right man to deal with the egos and command the respect that a manager of a 'big' club should be getting (genuine question, cos I haven't got a clue what his reputation is like)?

He is coming from one of the best run and well organized club to a circus - he might be a good coach but if the structures around him are a **** show then good luck with that. If they give him the overpaid dross they have now then good luck + lump him with Darren Fletcher and the like

Who knows, they have had a number of managers who have been used to dealing with big egos (Mourinho, van Gaal) they have had the likes of Moyes who was supposed to be a tough no nonsense type. They got rid of Solskjaer because the players were giving him the run around (but no-one on the pitch the run around) and they saw off at least Mourinho before him (arguably van Gaal too). Rangnick was always in a difficult position being here for a short term, that gifted players who didn't really need them more excuses. I honestly don't know where you'd start there are homegrown players that have come through the academy, there are expensive British players, high profile foreign players, PL experienced players, none of whom seem to be putting much effort in, unless the new manager can change that mentality probably by shipping out most of those players and bringing in new hungry guys then I think (hope) they could be in this position for a while.

He at least knows what a well run club should look and operate like, so he can try to implement it. Good luck with that though
