See what happens but we need to smash Saints to puts some pressure on

A lot of teams that play City seem to make chances but lack in natural finishers.

West Ham showed that a team with finishers has a chance of upsetting City, Villa are similar in that respect as they have three or four guys that could take advantage of any few chances they get.

Think we'll rest Trent and Robbo and play Matip and Konaten and Gomez at RB. Midfield will be interesting, but Thiago I think will be rested and Hendo will go again. Front 3 will be Jota, Mane and Bobby. Sadio will play as he is a machine.
      Are we winning?

Yeah we can rest some whilst still being able to field a strong team, maybe something like

        Alisson
        Gomez
        Matip
        Konate
        Tsimikas
        Milner
        Henderson
        Keita
        Jota
        Firmino
        Mane

Possibly Jones in for Milner if we want to play Henderson in the Fab role and allow Keita and Jones to play ahead of him.

Would still be a good team whilst giving a break to Salah, TAA, Roberston, Thiago, Diaz, and Fabinho.

Though I wonder might Mane be on the Bench and Diaz start instead?

Then against Wolves play the starting XI we hope to start against Real Madrid just so they do not have too long a break between games.

We’ve got 5 days until Wolves after Southampton, so recovery will be ok.

I meant to not rest the same players in both league games so there would not be a long break to the CL final for those players

Good lineup. Ideally would rest Henderson but there isn't really a suitable alternative. Would take him, Keita and Mane off after the hour mark though. Give Jones and Origi some minutes too. Need to keep the latter match sharp to win it for us in Paris [emoji2]

Mane played 120 minutes, Diaz only 98 - so Diaz rathwer than Mane as a starter.

Jones has to play (fresh and good enough); Milner (45 minutes) and Keita (75) are the freshest of the rest, but that is an unconvincing and slow moving midfield....unless Naby can play DM.

Some players will have to go again as I said unless analysis from sports science says no.

Not sure Hendo will have the engine to go a full 90 again… and as others have said, that midfield is slow as ****. Any chance he’d throw in a ringer, like Elliott? That would be playing proper mind games…

With Fabinho out and Henderson knackered, I'm expecting Milner to start probably with Jones and one of Naby/Thiago with them coming off after an hour or so.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Milner/Keita/Jones imo will be the midfield with some rotation. Whether that is good enough I'm not so sure. Thiago is so essential but we have to mange him before the final.

                              Diaz Origi Jota

A scrappy 1-0 win and then pray for a masterclass in bus parking from Villa on the last day, not that Villa seem to play that way under Stevie. But whatever, we need to beat Southampton.
