Made upOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostThis ‘feeding off scraps’ thing is made up. Unless only one-on-ones with the keeper (which Nunez fluffed) count as proper ones. Inside the box, failing to find a yard to shoot is a falling of the striker, not the midfielder who gave them the ball. Hitting everything straight at the keeper is the fault of the attacker. The midfield scuffing shots on the edge of the box (eg Keita), snatching at chances and skying them (Salah yesterday), we are creating and we aren’t scoring. Most teams in the league don’t habitually rip teams apart for tap ins (like we did at our peak), but they score more of the chances they create. How many games over recent years have we dropped points to teams scoring their only chance? Loads.
21 shots to their 13, 2 on target to their 5, 7 corners to their 2, 60% possession; we dominated for at least half of the match. With decent finishing and defending, the pattern of the game could have been a one or two goal win but we have neither.
**** off

Was so dejected I didn't feel like reading or posting after the game. But I have now accepted where we are and what's ahead. As long as we don't get relegated, I'm fine, don't care where we land.
Ahead is a total rebuild, on the plus side is we should have a season with no European football at all, so we can focus on the league and we don't need a very big squad. We don't need more attackers really so we can focus on defence and midfield. There were times against Wolves which was OK and we can build on.
Bajcetic is hugely promising and a real bright spot. If it were up to me I'd give Doak, Carvalho and Ramsay more minutes, in effect starting to prepare for the next rebuild. I'd prefer not to give Bobby a contract but maybe Klopp wants him as sort of a mentor for the pressing game.
We are square one now, I think we need to embrace that and act like that, stop any thoughts of salvaging the season and start preparing a total rebuild.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I think its pretty obvious. Klopp has a very hard time letting go of his favourites.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostDunno, can't see why we are keeping him tbh.
Only reason people like Ox, Firmino, Milner etc are still here. They should've all been moved on by now (or put on big wage reductions)"When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

Very true. He's exceptionally loyal to his players and staff - a hugely admirable quality - and that works until they all start to come to the end of their careers or spend more time in the sick bay than on the pitch. Klopp's going to have to get ruthless in the summer and those conversations (hopefully) will have already started... but that again, could be contributing to the performances - I mean, I know they're all consummate professionals but it must be hard to put in a shift knowing there's **** all chance of you staying at the club and the realisation that lower Prem or even Championship beckons.Originally posted by Harv View PostI think its pretty obvious. Easier said than done, I reckon. At some point, you'd have to question yourself/next move and that could be hampered by a dip in confidence and performance. Just too many have reached the same point at the same time this season...
Be an interesting watch for the rest of the season and into summer... so many moving parts inside and around the club, and that's not even thinking about the turmoil and chaotic results going on around us in the league.
Just hope we don't ****ing embarrass ourselves against Dyche and The Ev...
