Our ‘a’ game is a thing of the past I’m afraid. That said. The teams we’re likely competing against for the fourth place aren’t exactly world beaters either this year.

I really hope you're right. I don't know if you really believe this or just have an optimistic outlook on things.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI think we will come good and get 4th. Once we get players back fit.
I’m thinking similar to 2 seasons ago when we stormed back and took 3rd.
Our form has been so bad, I think top 8 will be tough. We look miles off being a top 4 team. Arsenal, City, Utd are put of reach, we'll be hoping Newcastle drop right off. I think Chelsea are more likely to challenge than us.
Like I said, I prefer your prediction. Fingers crossed.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Me too.
There are few signs that I am. But it felt this way that COVID season also. There are also a lot of points left to play for.Modifying post.

Is that a 6th place not challenging top 4?Originally posted by Kenneth View PostWhere do you think we’ll finish the season? I think 6th place.
By Vurtue of other teams ****ness I still think we can scrape 4th.
Newcastle wobbling, Spurs wobbling.
I think 4th-7th will possibly be as close as a few points going into last couple of games.
SOmething has to click for us?
Doesnt it?
Does it?

The teams currently in 3rd and 4th are on track for 74-78 points.
But let’s assume at least one of them drops off.
Around 69-71 points is usually enough to get 4th.
For us to get 71 points, we’ll need minimum 13 wins from our remaining 19 games
- W13 D3 L3 (That’s the same as City’s form from their first 19 games).
I don’t want to be all doom and gloom by saying we’re not getting 4th.
But, we’re not getting 4th

Who's missing? Diaz and Jota? VVD back soon with his hammy.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI think we will come good and get 4th. Once we get players back fit.

We've been ****e all season even when they were playing.
The midfield is the problem and all those guys are playing. They've all been run into the ground over the past 3 seasons and Klopp refuses to buy anyone"When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

I think both could drop off. one dramatically. Newcastle form seems to be dropping and can;t see United maintaining their current form.Originally posted by Pepe79 View PostThe teams currently in 3rd and 4th are on track for 74-78 points.

Our biggest problem is ourselves. Chelsea or Ourselves could easlily get 4th just need a couple of wins to get some confidence back ( easier said then done)_____________________________________

Because that’s likely to be the minimum needed, even with a drop off from those above..

You run players into the ground over 5 seasons without upgrading them/moving them on and youre going to have problems eventually. Its not some wild harebrained theory
We've been saying we needed a new midfielder since Gini left ffs. We have two that are extremely injury prone, two that are old and past it and one who's form has fallen off a cliff, then a bunch of kids who aren't really central midfielders but being forced to play there.
The fact we've signed nobody since Thiago is just absurd."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

Not a chance in hell. A tight win in the cup against Wolverhampton and a home nil nil with a struggling Chelsea does not mean we are much closer to the top sides. We are bad, we concede goals like school kids, we are where we deserve to be in the league and there is no reason to believe that we will actually start beating teams easily and put the necessary run of wins together.Originally posted by Pepe79 View PostDo you think we can get 13 wins from our next 19 league games?
