Everyone fit and we can beat anyone but the squad has quality and availability issues. We’ve sleep walked a bit into this midfield challenge where we have 3 players leaving on a free next summer and two of the remaining guys being old and injury prone. Delighted to have won and yes they were good/****housing but remember they’ve not had Botman, Guimares and ASM - not like we heat their best side.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostJust going to be you and I on this POV I expect
That was a cracking match for me. Newcastle were ****-housing their way to a draw, but got what they deserved. Will we play better? Of course but that was a hard fought win. Great to see us playing hard right until the end.
And credit to the ref for adding time after Pope went down in injury time.
Going to be some salty post match interviews
We’ll get better as lads come back and we can rotate but we need more availability quality in midfield

I thought we played ok! Didn’t log in here at all until after the game as I expected hyperbole as ever.
I was calm even if we drew the game. Intensity was there second half and made Newcastle defend and played the game we wanted despite them breaking the play at each opportunity!
Sadio leaving has created a bit of an adjustment for us upfront and also defensively as he was immense, so we’ve not been firing yet, but I would be worried if we were at this stage of the season.
Are we winning?

Midfield wasn’t the problem today.
A lot of our players are probably at different levels still early this season and it shows and last week we had 10 first team players out, which would have affected any team.
We’ll get our midfielders. We just need to be patient. Are we winning?

His drop in form is arguably having a bigger impact than losing Sadio. Diaz an able substitute but Salah’s form - being manhandled aside - has dipped massively.

Yeah agree on that. As soon as Ox and Keita got injured AGAIN we should have been active.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostEveryone fit and we can beat anyone but the squad has quality and availability issues. Equally, as you say we didn’t have our best side out tonight same as them.
A massive win for us.Modifying post.
