We are just carrying too many poor players like Gomez, Ox, Keita, Philips and likes of Elliott and Carvalho are so young and look way off even if it was a nice finish by Carvalho. Milner old too.

We need a money injection, I'm not sure if that is coming or from whom but money need to be spent on that side if we want to compete.

We looked full of energy and commitment in the Community Shield but fell flat on our faces as soon as the first League game came around, so let's hope Klopp's strategy was to conserve energy in this game so we hit the ground running vs. Villa in the League.

Judging by our transfer targets recently, it's fairly obvious Klopp knows the mf needs a complete overhaul. The only fault is not seeing that 12 to 18 months earlier.

Keita and Ox are not really going to boost our chances, are they?

Keita was anonymous in the time he was on, Ox was rather frustrating, neither should be near our side, unfortunately our lack of midfield options means they are going to get time.

Nunez was decent in build up play but really should have scored 2, his finishing was really poor, he needs to be more composed in front of goal

Love how Nunez is getting pelters as usual. At least he's busting his arse to get into the positions to waste chances. Mo' Money gets away with doing absolutely **** all for the entire game again, because he scores a little tap in to a gaping net (set up brilliantly by EST's favourite whipping boy).

Gomez and Ox are ****ing ****e and this isn't going to change. Theyve been ****ing ****e for years now. Injuries have ruined them. Why oh why does Klopp continue with this bull**** favourites game he plays.

Klopp's starting to really **** me off with his constant picking his favourites. It will be his downfall in the end. Gomez should've been ****ed off years ago, Milner is cooked, Ox had one half season where he looked amazing and has been either injured or dog**** the entire time since. Get rid FFS.

Also where was TAA? This soft prick cant be tired. He's been on holiday for 5 weeks. You can see his level of commitment to the cause right there. No wonder he doesn't look bothered when he's let another player coast past him at the back post.

With city pressing so high, duno why we didnt just launch it up to Nunez/Salah and hope for a break. Keeper is so slow releasing the ball.

The team is in transition, it’s really as simple as that.

Nunez will be ok, he’s still only 23 and gets himself into so many dangerous positions. Just needs to improve his finishing and composure in games that are that fast but that can be learnt over time.

Need some new mids in the summer and then will have to replace Salah, Firmino, Matip gradually over the next few years.

Carvalho and Elliot are very good for their age but will have to step up a level or two if they want to be a starter at LFC long term.

Times probably up for Keita and Ox but I don’t see a problem having Gomez as the fourth CB.

Yeah this season is cooked, we are just not there to compete. Our lack of quality and physicality in our midfield has been haunting us all season and will not change until we spend money. Ox and Keita aren't good enough, just how many years it has taken people to realise this is astounding. Milner and Hendo will give a couple of good performances but are past their best and Elliot and Carvalho are not yet at the level we require. Fabinho is hit and miss and Thiago is a world class player but his injury record speaks for itself.

Apart from knowing Gomez would always cause us an issue at the back, I looked at the line ups yesterday and City had Kdb, Rodri and Gundogan.. A genuine world class midfield and it showed, they dominated us the whole game. You could argue that we didn't start with Fab and Hendo but they aren't exactly world class. We looked dangerous on the counter, we can do damage to teams and Nunez fluffed a few but City really could have destroyed us yesterday and dominated the game. I just don't see us addressing our blatant midfield issues any time soon either. 4th is the best we can hope for, I feel it might be a tough season for us and unfortunately it's our own doing. It's such a shame as with a few quality midfield additions we could really challenge on all fronts this season .
