Maybe it's because he's playing in his best/favorite position?
I hope Arne can get the best out of him because if he plays like this next season it will be like the proverbial new signing.
    I love Sarah

I dont think its that. He's played on left front side for us plenty of times. He's just more motivated here for some reason.

Last quarter is considered the end of a period in most circles.

And he did all of those things. I believe Klopp said they had spoken with him but I suspect it's linked with arrival of his wee one.

We need to let him wear an orange vest under his club shirt.

international football is painfully slower than the premier league which suits him a lot better

he does lack a yard of pace imo

It’s slower, it’s ****ter, defences are less organised and less familiar with opposition players etc. That’s not to say that he won’t take this form into next season, he’s a quality player, but he’s never going to be the new Henry.

But it still wasnt the same as the displays he does now. Hes not only running more hes also trying to muscle people away, fit in areas that are beyond difficult, even yelling at players and the ref. Did none of those.

Whatever it is, position/opposition etc he looks quicker, more aggressive and more passionate. Seeing some of that in a LFC shirt would be nice.

And yet the England team/squad, which is made up of players that for the most part play in the Premier league, looks more ponderous and slow than teams with players that play in so called slower leagues.

Would have thought that if playing in the Premier league was such an advantage, then the England players would be tearing it up at international level regardless of who the manager is given they should have the advantage of playing under more pressure and as such having way more time on the ball when with the national team.

Which explains how every player from the Premier League have been faster/stronger/better in every regard. Oh wait..

Bugger, I just posted what you just said but far less effectively.

The players who play regularly for top 6 teams in the top 5 leagues and European club competition have largely looked sluggish and leggy.

They’re the ones who play the most games at the highest level at the greatest intensity throughout the season. They’re understandably running on fumes after playing game after game in multiple competitions domestically, in Europe and internationally throughout an increasingly never ending season.

Meanwhile the nations who are mostly made up of players from lesser leagues or players who don’t play regularly for their club sides have been comparatively fresher.

There’s just far too many games and too many competitions and the higher up you play, the more relentless and intense it probably is.

Maybe they are just lazy and need to run more laps to test their resolve.

                              agree...

sometimes i don't think people realise the mental aspect outside of the game can have on their game, such as war, loss of life, social issues...in gakpo's case, it was the impending birth of his first born... after the baby was born, guess what? his levels went up all around... of course he had the willy jillies earlier on in the season, don't tell me none of you have ever had that feeling and how it affected your own personal and work life (e.g. intensity, concentration levels, etc.), especially if it's your first born...

The England team plays ponderous and slow because they don’t have a defined way to play. Instead they just put the “best” individuals together and hope it works.

The gaps in between the mids and front line are not helping their forwards or midfielders conserve energy and they regularly spend large periods of games sitting back deep without the ball, again making it more tiring for them.

If they played to dominate teams with field position and possession and added more pace to their forward line, they’d play faster.
