I think their third goal was legit. We got very lucky. We are so incredibly easy to get at. Two passes or a dribble at pace and you're in on our goal. It's frightening, when you consider we are the home team, played our strongest possible available line up and they are next to bottom of the league.

Alison has been superb but should be fined his entire weeks wages for that first **** up. It was truly awful under no real pressure.

I don't see how we improve enough with the players we have, to pick up the points required to challenge for 4th.

Even yesterday when we tried to start strong and fast we created nothing. Second half we pinned them in but no shots on goal. The sight of salah with a little space going into the box and running into 2 defenders was nothing if not predictable. He beats no one. He is just very ordinary these days outside the box. Give him a bit of space on goal and he'll score, bit like Ronaldo. Neither have lost their instincts but neither are able to contribute in general play.

On a positive nore we do have some very good young plays in the squad. If we can get new blood in and replace the senior players, we might still have a klopp mark 2 team.

It was definitely more of the same, but I don’t think it was as bad some of our recent ****shows. They are highly motivated with their new manager, and fast counter attacking teams often do well as away sides. Their third goal looked legit but their other two were a gift and a fluke; **** happens. We were bedding in a brand new player, didn’t have Virgil and had the majority of the play. Still not good enough, but not desperate, given the context of our known midfield issues.

Yeah I agree, we started the game well. Looked in decent control without being g amazing and then… first the arrogance of the Thiago step over after Harvey got caught out doing the same thing v Brentford… and then Alisson…

We then fought our way back into it and scored a cracking goal. It wasn’t amazing. But it was a bit better.

But that's unlikely to happen though. No one is scared of playing us. There will continue to be huge gaps in behind and teams will rightly try and exploit it. I'm not convinced we have a clue how to stop what's happening, the fact it's still happening in January and nothing has changed isn't a good sign.

Some of our leakage is down to the weakness of the press and lack of midfield energy. However, that still doesn’t explain the way the defence - and now keeper - switch off inexplicably during the game. Even with a piss poor midfield, in previous seasons our defence would have batted many attackers away… but not any more, it seems.

            Bizarre.

              Trent played well though.

The mark of a world class player is to be able to learn and improve despite having talent. Fingers crossed he's working on the right things and ditched his other venture with the computer helmet and VR.

Not wishing to dump on Elliott again too much - but as soon as he came on, same problems arose of him taking up positions other players were in.
Don't get me wrong, I think he should be starting games at the moment the way everyone is play, I just think that people are over reacting to how well he is playing. The real issue is that everyone else level has dropped significantly.

I would have Fabinho, Thiago and Keita start our next game, but I don't expect any of them will play well...

Brighton away if we beat Wolves. Very tricky.

…be tricky to beat Wolves on the replay. Don’t we now play both of them in the cup and league twice within a few weeks now?

Don’t relish playing either at the moment…

Got Brighton away at the weekend as well they'll shaft LFC twice over by the seaside.

What’s happened to the press and intensity - it was there just a few months ago, I don’t buy this whole midfield has suddenly aged overnight bull****, something else has changed and it can’t just be down to the loss of Mane pressing from the front.
