Out of possession, break up play and advance the ball.
In possession, recycle the ball and or break the lines.
Considering he's new to the PL and in the heart of midfield I think he's doing fine for now.
I don't think he has been successful in much of that you mentioned, I think one game I watched and I thought he had a good game. Certainly wouldn't go around writing the kid off but for me, he's been disappointing so far. He'll get time.
The lad signed for us on 1st September, less than 17 weeks ago. He’s 21. He’s got another couple of years before any definitive conclusions about his prospects can be made. As it stands, he’s not a shoe in to start games, but he’s exactly to the kind of player you want taking squad positions, ie talented young players with prospects who can hold his own if called upon.
I don't understand, what exactly is he supposed to improve? As far as I can tell he is doing the job he's been asked to.
And what job is that exactly? I'm not quite sure what he is yet. He has good technical ability, he's not slow, he's a big lad so he has good attributes, his problem is he isn't involved in games. Like I said, he's young and will get time.

He's had really good games and really bad games
Which you absolutely expect at 21 years old
Can't understand anyone writing him off at this age, it's daft
