But that’s the real worrying issue. The sheer volume of issues.

On here tho, all of the chat is about Salah etc and whilst he should be dropped the real issues are staring us in the face. We cannot defend and the flip side of that is we are always conceding goals therefore we are always chasing games and teams can sit back and absorb and the desperation to succeed as an attacking force increase exponentially. If we can build a solid defensive set up out of possession then we definitively have the players to score goals.

I think the whole thing is somewhat self perpetuating we aren't winning games because we aren't scoring enough goals and are conceding too many. Strikers are probably thinking if defence can keep a clean sheet we can score the goals to win us the game. Defenders are under pressure to keep a clean sheet because strikers aren't scoring enough.

I've mentioned this before but I have this idea that for a side like use 2-1 is probably the 'par' scoreline, we should be capable of scoring a couple of goals against anyone and probably shouldn't concede more than 1. If you win 3-2 your attack has done better than par and your defence worse, so attack won you the game. If you win 1-0 your defence has out performed par and your attack hasn't etc.If you look at recent games both have underperformed by this metric in 5 of the last 7 PL games
