Anything is plausible with these clowns but I'd be shocked if they didn't at least go through the motions of adding the lines to "help" confirm the decision.

As I think about it more I'm starting to doubt my own theory.

The bottom line is you won’t win games with refereeing like that. Forgot about thiese yellows.

Surely the whole point of VAR is the process though, if you are asked to check an offside surely you have to do it properly and draw the lines to provide proof as to whether the decision is correct or not. We hear all the time how camera angles and lines on the pitch etc can be misleading, so someone just going, 'yeah it looks right' undermines the whole system, we are told that the offsides with VAR are a matter of fact, if the same process isn't carried out everytime because the VAR official believes it's obvious then that isn't the case.

This may be a conspiracy theory but I do wonder how many times this has happened before, the only reason they have been caught out this time is because it is so obvious to the naked eye (people are saying 50/60cm), How many of the times when you have looked at the freeze frame and you disagree with the VAR but you've been told 'it's the angle' have they pulled this **** before and got away with it because the decisions are much tighter?

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

:handshake; I mentioned above that the rugby discussions usually finish with the referee asking something like 'so I zm safe to give the try?' To which their equivalent of VAR confirms. And the decision is then made. All of this is broadcast so people are accountable, but football doesn't want this system

Also feel that the club really need to go hard after VAR/PGMOL/The FA/PL over this, we have had some poor decisions over the years but this is whole other level stuff.

And ties in with them supposedly rejecting the semi-autonomous VAR tech used at the World Cup

Are we to believe that the VAR ref didn't notice:

                  1. The linesman flagged for offside straight away and there were no celebrations from Liverpool players.
                  2. The VAR referee didn't notice VAR screen that VAR put up on the monitors that said ' Checking Disallowed Goal'
                  3. The VAR referee didn't notice that a free kick had been given instead of a Spurs Kickoff when play resumed
                  4. The VAR referee didn't notice the score remained 0:0.

I'm just not buying any of this - would love to hear the transcript of the VAR officials to see when exactly they became aware of the massive **** up that had just happened and why they then chose to do absolutely nothing about it.

                  The whole thing stinks
this is what we need, complete and total transparency. Something is off about this one .

I'm pissed at this but the one I still can't get over is the failure to award Everton a pen vs City late in their game, acouple of years back. PGMOL apologised to Everton but did nothing,City won the game 1-0 and went on to beat us to the title by a point...
We got ****ed at Tottenham then too..... The robbo red, the kane let off. Tierney.

So gets back from a side hustle in the middle east yesterday, potentially jetlagged, is VAR official today, doesn't notice that the goal was disallowed, even though the flag went up, the players don't celebrate, and the system presumably tells him he is checking a disallowed goal. You do have to question if tiredness, jetlag etc are factors in this, if so it's not just this decision but his role in officiating the whole match that is undermined. But the bigger question is why is he allowed to go and be involved in games in the middle East that are affecting his ability to officiate games here?

With this and the MacAllister red card PGMOL have admitted errors in big decisions in 2 out of our 7 PL games this season (both of which have gone against us). The system in place clearly isn't working, it's a ****ing **** show

It’s the only answer, hello Darren…. Please check for offside, on field decision is NO GOAL

I really don't know if I believe the PGMOL line that Darren England didn't know whether the goal had been given or not. Because on the one hand that seems such a crazy system that could not make it clear what he was looking at (or what confirming or overturning the decision meant for the goal being given). But on the other hand the level of incompetency of the people running the game makes it entirely believable that they could **** up to such a massive extent.

I’m still ****ing livid. The only positive was it took two red cards, a legitimate goal chalked off, an own goal and a referee bent as a butchers hook to beat us. And now we hear DARREN ENGLAND AND MICAEL OLIVER WERE REFFING A GAME IN SAUDI ARABIA DURING THE WEEK…

The premier league officials are the worst of the worst, they are all thick as ****, I’ll bet most of them failed the police entrance assessment so decided refereeing would be where they would get their fix, power hungry cunts.

Maybe the league should pay them pricks 300 grand a week, they are the stars of the show now.

Anyway **** them all, really hope this doesn’t have a significant impact on our season. Roll on Brighton.
