Interestingly it is subtitled in the BBC transcription and they attribute it to the VAR official:

VAR: Check complete, check complete. That's fine, perfect (showing Diaz is clearly onside). Off.

    Referee: Cheers mate

    VAR: Thank you mate

Referee. Well done boys. Good process.

I think the BBC have got that wrong.

You can hear a difference in the audio between the VAR room and the on field officials and it sounds like it comes from the latter to me.

It's the ref or one of the assistants affirming that their on field decision of 'off' has been confirmed.

The off itself seems off. Almost like a word or two was cut out? Feels like it’s missing context & that would actually be a good time to cut out a couple of seconds of convo, right before the transition to live pitch.

Should become apparent anyway when analysis is done by the sleuths..

Should be easily proven if/when analysis is done by the sleuths
I don't think so. Sounds to me like the ref blows his whistle then says 'off'

Posted on page 16. Looks like the ref was informed.

I dont know what the normal of delay after a goal is scored to the game then restarting but there was no need to rush it in the time they did, also they have several monitors infront of them, surely they'd have seen the live feed with the players looking to take a freekick to restart than gathered for a kick off

more questions than answers with all this

                That’s a very good point.

Thought the audio would make me feel (slightly) better. I now think the game was bent! Something not right with the game and the season (yellow/red cards). We’ll get little sympathy from the main broadcaster (Sky/Murdoch/Sun hate Liverpool). But as Klopp said, we need the media to drive the change (managers and players are sanctioned for questioning officials/decisions).

Also noted that the appeal against Jones red card was unsuccessful. On what basis?

On the basis that he went into a tackle not fully in control and ended up standing on the Spurs player's ankle.

Was that the response? Crazy! He was in control, got the ball and his foot rolled over the top of it. No intent. No malice. It was accidental. Anyone who knows football will understand that.

My best guess is he wanted Spurs to win by 3 or 4 goals, so that people stop focusing on the one goal which was not given. He did not expect us to be so resilient in the second half.

I think the ref lost his bottle. Knew there was an error on the goal and lost control of the game. Wasn’t helped by a support team that was half asleep.

They were never going to over turn due to the precedent for previous decisions but the rule itself is bollocks.

And what they haven't explained is why the ref was presented the replay in the manner he was.

No idea, that's what I think.

No one had hold of Jones, he went in leaning back and with his leg up - he's not in control at all. It wasn't reckless or violent but it wasn't in control either.

                              Yes I've changed my mind.

Hadn't thought of that but makes sense

Why haven't they released the audio od the throw in the next time the ball went out of play. But they have said that the officials found out only after the match. I don't believe them.
