If Jones (22 years old) and Elliott (20 years old) were new summer signings, we'd be raving about them.

As for the midfield, we still haven't got it right, despite being top of the league i.e. got the right players but not quite functioning as a unit.
    Another MASSIVE game

It's great to have depth that can be worked with

If we started Trent holding and the other two in front of him against bottom half of the table I wouldn't groan, at least not until we're behind with 15 mins to go. I see Mac Allister similar to Elliott, Gravenberch is your Jones and Slob most similar to Trent I guess

We are in a good position at the moment, but so too are Arsenal and although City have been dropping points they are a team that is capable of putting long runs of wins together as we have seen in previous battles with them. We are where we are without really playing well and while winning when you play badly is a good habit to have, if you aren't playing well consistently you do feel that your 'luck' will come to an end sooner or later. For me we need to bring someone into the DM role in January, and the injury to Matip makes me a little nervous about CB too, ideally someone comes in there. The other big concern is the ACN, Salah missing for a month is a problem we really need someone to step up in that period, if we can maintain our current position and points advantage when the ACN is done then we are right in contention
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

we are in such a great position it would be a shame not to do whatever we can to ensure we have the best possible chance of staying where we are. We have some injuries, some injury prone players, some tough fixtures coming up and then losing Mo to the AFCON is going to lay bare the lack of goals from our other forwards in the league. That January window is a fantastic opportunity for us.

As already mentioned, we really need Diaz and Nunez to step up. We’re still too reliant on Salah. Think it’s fair to say that Diaz and Nunez or no way near the standards of Mane and Bobby.

But there were some on here that thought Bobby didn’t score enough goals either. Hopefully we get to see the Diaz we saw when he first signed with us. The injury & abductions are probably a big factor in his drop in form

Salah averages 22 PL goals a season, Mane averaged 15 and Firmino 10, that's 47 goals a season from the main 3 forwards, at present Salah, Nunez and Diaz have 18 PL goals, at the current rate they are on for 42-43 for the season, which is a little behind the old front 3, but not that far behind, it is also worth noting that we have 5 forwards who are all first team quality, which wasn’t the case for much of the time with the old 3.

Our 5 forwards have 24 PL goals this season, so at current scoring rate are on course for 57 goals, over the last 6 seasons our combined forward line has averaged 58 goals a season.

Salah is obviously the main contributer to that, but he always has been, amongst the rest of the forwards the goals are just more spread out than they used to be.
