We have dropped points v. Chelsea (a), Brighton (a), Spurs (a) and Luton (a). Our only defeat has involved the worst set of refereeing decisions since the implementation of VAR.

Nunez remains inconsistent but is improving. He is in the team to score and create goals, he needs to be better in clutch situations.

All the new signings are settling in well, and the one that really excites me is Gravenberch. There are signs that he too could be an excellent prospect, he seems to have the lot.

The age profile of our team is also looking much better.
Agree - top 4 is an absolute must, talk of the title is very far fetched. Europa League could be won and we are in a strong (ish) position in the League Cup

I’ll get frustrated by days like yesterday but we are still WIP and not the well oiled machine. Shaggy mentions away form but I’d be more worried about our “process” - the players used to have an innate knowledge of who did what which made us do well oiled. We are building a 2.0 but we are still shoehorning players into roles which makes the process break down. I’d rather play an Endo in a familiar role instead of a Mac in an unfamiliar role for example…..

    Overall it’s positive

Macca at DM isnt the way IMO, I's love to see us try a 3-5-2 with maybe an Endo or Trent being the middle of the three, you still get the 3 boxs but also get width ?
I make no apologies, this is me

The 2 top performing leagues in Europe this season will each get an extra CL spot next season. So a good chance since PL teams usually do well in Europe, but not guaranteed.

I forgot the 8 game superleague format starts next year. The league will finish after the new year, if fiitball manager is anything to go by

We're still well placed at the end of this week's fixtures then. Our form is definitely wobbling (2 wins, 2 draws and a loss in the last 5 league games). Cracks are starting to show in the new midfield etc. but we're still hanging in there.

We've got to win against Brentford then the City game will tell us if we're in for a title challenge or a top 4 one.

I think realistically the main aim this season (league at least) had to be getting a CL spot and getting the new players and system bedded in, a (sustained) title challenge would have been nice but we shouldn't have been expecting it, expectations went up a bit with how we started the season.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Think we’ve done really well over the last 11 PL games. The current table is a fair reflection of where we are and how we’ve played. I also think we can play much better. Main concern - I’m not yet convinced on our system or the midfield set up.
                  Another MASSIVE game

We've done better than I thought so far. City away will show us just what level we are at but yeah we ain't winning the league and I don't think that was ever in mind anyway. The midfield just doesn't have that right balance yet and unfortunately MacAllister has been a bit of a casualty of the setup and he has looked pretty awful to be honest. We need a top DM in there and we ll click imo.

We must be due a bit of an easy run of fixtures, We have done pretty well given our fixture list.

I would have thought Luton was one of the easiest fixtures in the calender year but we managed to somehow **** that.

This really, City will walk the league again and make it four on the bounce, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs can't beat them to it, not at chance. Top four and Europa League and I'd pretty satisfied. Get a top 6 in, along with a top defender and two full backs for the season after and we might challenge properly then.
                          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

yeah City will cruise the league, only at a canter at the moment. I think most would be happy with top 4 and Europa League. There's still a bit of work to be done with the squad and the prospect of champs league football would help recruiting significantly.

I think we just went through a lull which any team does including City.

Considering our full midfield rebuild, we're doing amazingly well. I'm pretty sure we'll add to the team in January with a view to aiming for a title run next season.
