Agree on Robbo too. Wanted to highlight that there have been mitigating circumstances for recent regression, that basically every player from last season was written off as being past it. I actually made the exact same point about Trent earlier in the season (crazy arguing that a 24 YO isn't past it), that IMO the only reason he hasn't regained form like Mo, VVD etc. was because that injury set him back at the time, but with a run of games in a functioning team, we should see him improve massively.

Robbo isn't as straightforward as he has been impacted most by the change in formation. I do think the criticism of his form has been massively exaggerated though, so expect him to slot back in and do a solid job for us. For his sake though, it's a shame that he won't be able play in a formation that gets the best out of him, to prove that he's still capable of performing to the levels he was a few years ago, like others in the team have done.

We've chopped and changed our team all season, lost key players in every position, get ****ed over by officials every week and still lead the way. City seem wholly dependent on one player (Rodri), look a shadow of their former selves, yet they are still expected to walk the league and we're gonna be lucky to finish top 4 according to some?

Who knows, it may well play out that way, but based purely on the evidence of this season, it's some severely flawed logic. Previous seasons may well suggest City finish strongly, but that run was supposed to start in November.
They must have a really tough last quarter then? i browsed there next 6 and its about as easy as it gets. Tougherst game was an out of form Newcastle away

They do and it coincides with the later stages of CL.

          Trent, can’t defend
          Endo - didn’t cost enough
          Diaz - ****e since injury
Nunez - does t score enough
Salah - scores only tap ins and pens and is past it, old, would rather have the money
          Gakpo - what is he
Jota - bad technique but scores
Gomez - **** and injury prone
          Matip - Old
Tsmikas - and not at required level
Jones - unproven doesn’t do it often enough
          Robbo - past it declining
Kelleher - let’s too many in
Quansah - was free and is unproven
          Konate - injury prone
          Adrian - waste of space
          Dom - in poor form
          Mac Allister - wrong position
Gravenberch - not good enough will fail

          Have I missed anyone out???

Even Klopp last year. Massive amounts of doubt that he was good enough.

And yet somehow this pile of ****e is top of the league. Somehow we have only lost one game (robbed) at the half waypoint. Do that again and we only go and ****ing win it.

More energy goes into wishing for and looking at the team with a raft of new signings for the 2026/27 season and getting a load of cash in the bank than actually getting behind the team that is currently top of the league.

          ****. Them. ****. That.

It’s negative ****e. It’s the most neurotic, least exciting way of going after it this ever. Support the team in front of us.

Let’s go and win the ****ing league

Also the irony of an overwhelmingly positive response to a post of Craig's is absolutely wonderful too

I think this season depends on FSG and if they go again in Jan, can't see it but, fingers crossed

TBF - they did in summer - especially with Slob fee paid up front, plus they wiped that out with the November investment.

I agree it looks like we need cover for the defence but can only see a loan in that area.

Think that's essential to maintain our defensive form which has got us where we are more so than the attack.

Which is nuts when you think we've conceded first at least 6 times and last season was so poor.

You’re not wrong in what you say. Nevertheless, there remains a general feeling among most that we won’t spend in January. There has to be a reason for that. For me, the last couple of windows don’t override the general mantra of the ownership, as regards willingness to spend. There needs to be a far longer track record of change, for that to happen.

Don't disagree that there is that perception, but just had a quick look at the Klopp years or rather Klopp's full seasons with us.

Last January we bought Gakpo for the guts of 40m.

January 2022 we bought Diaz for 47m

January 2021 we bought nobody but it was that weird covid transfer window thing so we bought Jota for 40 m in mid to late September.

January 2020 we bought Minamino for 7.5m.

January 2019 we bought nobody but we went pretty big the summer before that with Keita, Alisson, Shaqiri and Fabinho coming in.

January 2018 we bought VVD for 75m.

                              January 2017 we bought nobody.

We seem to have shifted, the past three seasons, to spending about 40m to 50m on a single player as our late signing for the season.

Maybe it does not happen this January, maybe it does, but our recent track record leans more on the side of us finding a player that is available or us moving a summer target to January.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Given we bid £110m for Caicedo, then spent £16m on Endo and £35m on Gravenberch there should be about £60m in the kitty for the right player if they are available
