When has he ever not done this though?

Absolutely loves saying "**** you!" to risking players to injury.

Has bitten us in the arse way too many times as well.

This should be totally kids. Not one first team player should be out there in such a dead rubber.

The LASK manager came out a few weeks ago, criticising Klopp and saying he didn't like him, criticising him for playing reserves against Toulouse (even though it was a stronger team than we fielded against them first time).

I half wondered if it entered Klopp's thinking when he decided to start Mo and also to bring on Trent, Nunez and Jones when already 3 up against them. I hope so and hope he follows it up with no first teamers tomorrow.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

True. I think sometimes he doesn't want to screw the kids over, so he throws in a few first teamer's to guide them and give them half a chance.

With the United game being so important though I would throw the kids under the bus and see how they get on A weak league cup team basically.

This is why you work so hard to top the group early, so you have the luxury of doing this

Would start whatever first team squad players are not going to be in the starting line up against the Mancs along with a number of younglings.

The first team squaddies need to be getting minutes into their legs so would be using games like this one for that purpose.

So whichever one of Darwin, Salah, Gakpo and Diaz is not pencilled in to start against the Mancs should get a game.

Two from Gravenberch, Jones, Szobo, Endo, Elliot.

Two from TAA, Gomez, Konate, VVD, Quansah and Tsimikas.

                Plus Kelleher in goal.

Probably would mean Kelleher, Gomez, Quansah, Elliot, Gakpo and one from Gravenberch or Jones along with five ressies.

Would leave the bench full of ressies only.

We currently have 6 players covering 4 positions in defence. 2 of them have serious question marks over their ability to play more than once a week (Konate and Gomez).

I think we would be mental to risk any of them in a meaningless game at such an important and physically demanding part of the season.

Just send the under 21 squad like we did when the first team was at the world club cup and we had a league cup game.

                      Back chat eh?

                      Fine.

For that I am now starting all our usual starters and making them do double training sessions today as well as another training session just before the game.

Now they will be doing sprints at half time.

I feel that this is an odd one, as many have said the game is a dead rubber so it seems silly to play and risk the first team players. On paper it seems a good opportunity to play the kids and get them some experience, the problem with that is that the kids benefit most playing alongside experience players, so some sort of blended team is probably best from that point of view, and to be honest that is the approach that I expect we will take with the senior players starting being the ones who haven't been regular starters this season, just to get some minutes into them.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah, Gordon Doak Cambers etc gain nothing if the rest of the team is full of kids.

Problem is the side is "unsettled" all over the pitch, so there isnt much continuity to be brought into either
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Ideally you would want a blend of youth and experience.

However, maximising the benefit for the youth players isn’t really the aim here - protecting our senior players is.

The youngsters will still get massive benefit from this, playing for LFC against an experienced European team without the normal pressure that goes with it.
