Agreed, we also need to be taking maximum points while City is not st their best. They will bounce back and go on one of those 15 game win runs. But the season has been a success so far within the rebuild context.

This is so ****ing dodgy. If there is no hand ball Salah is past him. His hand is in an unnatural position and changes the direction of the ball. OK, maybe the ref doesn’t see it (he should) but how on earth VAR look at that and don’t give it???

I can understand why the ref might not give it but it's clearly deliberate and stops the ball going through to Salah, it's a pen all day long. Clear as day IMO. I can't see how any fair minded VAR official doesn't send the ref to the monitor to take a look at it.

Some mental gymnastics needed for ref watch to justify this.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Didn’t they take about 6 minutes during the continuing play to decide it wasn’t deliberate?

Any word n Diaz’s injury? Was it just knee to knee contact?

That’s what frustrated me today more than anything. They are away and will need to make up some games and the chance to put more pressure on was there but in the overall picture I think we are probably ahead of where we’d think we would have been. Plus the age of the squad has gone down a lot which bodes well for the future.

We lost control when Jones went off.

nice to see Jones establishing himself as a key player

I hope to see Jones and Mac Alister play together more often when he is back. They feel like the best midfielders for controlling the game and opening teams up in tight spaces with compact defences. Balance it out with Endo or Dom depending on the opposition and playing home or away. Let Elliot play in the front three again for a while.

What we're people's views on Saka for them? I felt there was a fair amount of snideness to his game, I thought he got away with a few fouls before his booking and was very lucky not to get a second yellow, seemingly got away with it because he slipped which I didn't know was a rule but sky seemed to have deemed it so. I also didn't think he was blameless in the incident that Tsimikas got injured in. Was also going to ground rather easily and trying to get players booked, went down holding his face at pne point when he was caught in the chest. I kind of quite liked him before today.

Yup should have had a yellow for a few fouls plus kicking the ball away after the foul on Timmy. The inconsistency with those yellows is so frustrating as well as the time wasting yellows one day but not the next.

Arteta was lord of the snide when he was a player so it’s no surprise he’s passing on the mantle

Yeah he’ll probably get a 4 week ban for that knowing our luck. I thought I read it at the time but no one picked up on it on my stream
