    Newcastle (H) Monday Jan 1st

New Year’s Day 8pm KO. Need the ground bouncing for this one.

I imagine we’ll be without Mo & Endo , so do Newcastle lose any players to the AFCON or Asian Cup?

No fresh injuries hopefully but no injured players back in time for this?

I’d expect Jota to be on the bench again as we don’t want to rush him & risk further injury.

    Ali
    TAA
    Konate
    VVD
    Gomez
    Szobo
    Jones
    Gravenberch
    Elliot
    Nunez
    Diaz

For me it was either Elliot or Szoboszlai to replace Mo on the right. You could make a case to play Diaz on that side with Gakpo left too I suppose.

And then it’s who replaces Endo . Jones for me unless Mac is ready to return. Against a lesser side you could make a case for McConnell but not against Newc.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Think both will still be in the team (Mo/Endo)

Yeah I though Klopp confirmed both would be around for the Newcastle game but travel sometime after it so aren't available for the following games
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Ho Ho Ho a late Christmas present it is then. I stand corrected. Flog the pair of them for one more match then

Not surprising Newcastle feeling the effects of CL games and injuries. Still a good side (play good football when on form) but this feels like a great time to be playing them.
          Another MASSIVE game

Yeah they have looked out on their feet over the last month. They've got a few players back though and could cause us some problems. I can't see us not scoring against them though.

Salah and Endo both available for this one and Mac Allister due to be fit also.
              Modifying post.

                Perfect, start them all!

Midfield of Endo - Alexis - Jones for me.

I'd rather take three points now over a win against Arsenal.
                * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Agreed. Need these 3 points more than that stupid cup game. Specially as we seem to be playing against manc/corrupt refs most games.

Alexis has been out for almost a month, not sure he will start.

Beautiful, the more the merrier. I do think Jones will start this one though.

The Arsenal FA Cup tie? to be honest in the context of the season I wouldn't be too upset if we went out of the FA Cup early (might be pissed off on the day), we are already quite far in the League Cup and through to the knock out stages of the Europa, if we are involved in a title race one less competition could he something of a blessing fixture wise

Totally agree with that. We don’t have a squad to compete on all fronts.

I'd say we have a much better squad than we did 2 years ago and also in 2001. In terms of results, we certainly weren't impacted by the cups two years ago.

Stuff Arsenal, then go on and lift the trophy.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
