Starting Kelleher is madness.

I don’t disagree with that view, it carries legitimate value. I’d just place the value of giving ourselves the best chance of winning, slightly above it, that’s all. If others have different priorities, that’s ok.

Kelleher deserved his place in previous cup runs but he's been ****e this season. Seems a bit mad to risk Virg etc to then throw in a sub par player. Got bigger issues in the squad, but with Ali's injury record I'd want a better number 2

I think the rationale is probably that if Becker gets injured at least he will have had a few games under his belt this season and won't be going in to the deep end not having played for a long time

That’s the team I had down. Bradley deserves the start ahead of Beck and having Gomez move over to right back. But then I was also thinking maybe rest Gomez and Konate and have VVD and Quansah and then Beck and Bradley as fullbacks. I like that front 3.

There’s a balance to be had. I’m not devaluing what you’ve said. At the same time, players will understand that things sometimes change (eg, we have loads of injuries which are going to weaken our side tonight and to try to counter that a little, we’re opting to pick our first choice keeper).

At the same time, Kelleher is likely to leave in the next 12-18 months anyway. So the value of keeping him sweet is diminishing returns, for me.

Fair enough point but the 2021. win vs Chelsea ticks out the process iMHO, Poss adds more the transfer fee , battle hardened etc.
