    He's not good enough either.

We need someone superior to Guardiola, able to better him with a lot less resources. A poor man's Guardiola doesn't fit that bill.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I'll take this superior to Guardiola fella that you describe!

Now, aside from, Klopp, who exactly is he?

        Up and coming:
        Xabi Alonso - Leverkusen
        Ruben Amorim - Sporting
        Roberto De Zerbi - Brighton

Xabi is the obvious choice with how well BL are going plus his connections to the club. He may not feel ready yet but with Ancelotti extending at RM then we’ve no rival. I would say if he comes get ready for constant RM want him rumours

Amorim - Won the title in Portugal with an underdog, did v well at Braga, plays great football. I think he’s also ready but I don’t know if he speaks English

RDZ - We’ve seen what he can do at Brighton but we’ve seen what Potter did as well and how he bombed afterwards. Id prefer the other 2 but be open to him

        “Damaged Goods”
Naglesmann - The wonderkund of German football at RBL but bombed at Munich. I’m not sure what to make of him - he chops and changes too much for me

Conte - Was great at Chelsea and started well at Spurs but he’s nuts and FSG won’t like his demanding approach to wanting players

        Leftfield
Gallardo - Was brilliant at River Plate but then took a bag of money and went to Saudi. I think English would be an issue

Marco Rose - Klopp light, did well early doors, failed and rebuilding himself again

Roger Schmidt - Another Klopp disciple who lost his way but good at PSV and going well at Benfica

        The other “top” managers are;
        Pep - **** off
Arteta - Pep light Lego head and overrated
        Xavi - never leaving Barca
        Carlo - too old now
Tuchel - too crazy and unlikely to leave Bayern

Lot of talk in Germany that Tuchel may be gone come the end of the season so if that happens then if Xabi wants to move two of the clubs he wants to manage have a vacancy.

Agree with much of what you have said though I would add Thomas Frank in there if the likes of RDZ etc are to be considered.

Personally I think Klopp's announcement yesterday means one of two things though (especially as the club has known since November), and those are that is the next manager is all but decided upon with agreements are in place with him and his current club or a big change in ownership is on the cards and the new owners know who they want to be brought in.

Both scenarios would explaining the clearing of the decks of the coaching staff and of the close to immediate vacating of the DOF role.

My gut says it is the former option but who knows.

The clearing of the decks means that a clean slate is in place for a new manager and his backroom staff come June. Not a chance businessmen like FSG would have that clean slate lined up this far ahead of time without being sure of who is coming in imo.

Don't think that should be the benchmark.

A Klopp v2.0 or a Baldiola v2.0 should not be what we aim for.

What we need is the guy we think has the potential to turn world class at the helm of LFC and that becomes New guy Version 1.0.

Do think that what might be almost as important as getting in the new manager is the putting in place a DOF/Analytics set up that works as well with the manager as what we had in the Klopp/Edwards set up.

100% agree Dan he’s not someone we should ever consider

Arteta would turn us into a team of diving pricks.

He wouldn’t come away, it’s a pointless consideration.

Maybe. Maybe not. But the way he's gone about it has revealed him to be a thin skinned ****** imo.
                    Oh I don't know.

Putting aside the sort of man Howe comes across as being and taking him on footy terms only I would still not want him anywhere near the job tbh.

Comes across as very much a yes man whose tactics and savvy appears quite limited for any level about mid to lower table.

Seems clueless when it comes to squad rotation, the use of subs (be it for impact purposes or for negating team fatigue), tactically seems rigid and for me appears destined to become badlyt dated very quickly thanks to that tactical rigidity.

Oh yeah and because he comes across as a thin skinned ******

Not that we should be after him anyway but Arteta would come anyway, he is at a club that he played for and we are the City rivals of another team he played for and was assistant at our current main rivals. Also whether you/we agree with this or not he and Arsenal fans view us as title rivals,he wouldn't leave them and ruin his past relationships for us.

And I'm not going into the long list of reasons I don't think he is suited to the club.

Staggered he's even being mentioned on here. Non starter, thankfully.

Arteta can **** off, seriously. Not suitable in any possible way, ability or personality wise, he's just a tasteless dumb prick currently punching above his weight. No Liverpool manager is gonna go and have his mouth stuffed with kebap slices by Salt Bae.

We need someone who can get Wataru Endo and turn him into player of the month I'm afraid there aren't that many capable of that though.

I like the idea of Alonso, but at the moment I worry that I am thinking of the options with my heart rather than my head, as I always thought he would be a good manager. My head says as well as he is doing at the moment he's only been in the role for 18 months, so is still relatively unproven, but of Al the options out there him and possibly de Zerbi appear the most suitable options
