A Portuguese chap I was talking to recently and works within football recruitment said he didn't think the Sporting guy would be ready yet. Struggled at Sporting with established names. Works well with younger players with no egos etc. If the likes of salah depart I guess it would be set up for him. He also said he didn't think he could handle the intense secrunity that you get in England, especially following klopp.
Oh well, we'll find out soon.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Just don’t think these type of paths align very often, could be wrong, time will tell. I think it would have been a good move for him (might still be yet), I think the fans would be inclined to give him time, perhaps more than others if things didn’t go all that well from the start.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostHow come? He’s only 42.
Let’s see, all we have are some press briefings… from who though. For all we know he might have just said he is not interested in talking to other clubs and focusing on where he is until the end of the season. Wouldn’t be unusual for the press to misconstrue someone’s words.

Think Edwards returning has me totally unphased about the managers whose reps have been contacted.
Have confidence in guys like Edwards wanting to get the guy that best fits the long term plans of the club and in his ability to get that guy.
Am also pretty sure that the guy that would 100% say yes to the job has seen contact been made with his reps and that there is a waiting game underway at present as to not derail the remaining season here at LFC and at the other club.
Until then there is a title and european trophy to hunt down to try and make this season one hell of a big one in the club's history.
This season has potentially become a great one with a bittersweet tinge.
The potential is there for a treble, one of the greatest managers the club has ever had is leaving, a new hopefully up and coming manager is about to come in and a brand new era is about to begin that will be built on rock solid foundations.
Two massive seasons back to back in this one and next season. One thing for sure, we will have plenty to discuss and savour.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

So you've never heard of him therefore nothing one else knows anything about him.Originally posted by Patricks_Berger View PostReally? I haven’t met a single one. Maybe the odd football hipster but I don’t think fans know anything about him otherwise. He’s a very distant second so it looks like there will be a lot of disappointment. Big step down from Klopp
There have been countless articles analysing the candidates.Oh I don't know.

My good friend SB is also poised to win his 3rd, yes 3rd Prediction King Cup. The pressure of competing with him week after week is the sole reason that I quit the competition & I wish him well.

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

This is an interesting quote from Reddy, “ Alonso was touted by many as a replacement for Jurgen Klopp, who is leaving Anfield at the end of the season, though the Reds were already not expected to include their former midfielder on their shortlist of possible successors.”
Is there a possibility he was never a target for Edwards?

I wouldn't pay too much attention to anything that is being said at the moment - if journalists are coming out with stuff it's because they have been briefed.
This stance might be something that LFC/Leverkusen/Alonso have agreed on just to put a stop to speculation which is bound to be a distraction for Leverkusen and their push for the title.

Or is just Reddy typing words in order to appear a relevant ITK.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
