He’s got a good job and his Mrs is understanding! He’s was a proper Feyenoord firm guy in his youth, he moved to Liverpool with work and became a red then. He’s looked after me loads with tickets to games - a top guy who knows his footballOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostWow. He must have a lot of time and money on his hands.

Everything I’ve read about him and also seen Feyenoord fans say about him sounds promising. The complete opposite of ETH.
Great communicator that everyone likes, even the press. Gets the best out of his players and can get them and the team as a whole to overachieve. Sounds like he took over Feyenoord when they were in a right mess and got them to a tittle a few years later. Hasn’t had the financial resources of his biggest rivals.
Plus when he was in charge of AZ Alkmaar and the league was canceled because of Covid he had them level top after 25 games.
I know it’s a big step up in leagues and clubs so we don’t know how that will go but he seems very highly rated. If he’s the one maybe having a few countrymen around especially our captain will help. But from all the options we seem to be looking at we aren’t going for a top proven coach. Seems a similar approach to the players we mainly target, someone who’s established themselves and is ready to make the next step to being top class.

[] NEW: Liverpool have pinpointed the Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot as the man they want to replace Jürgen Klopp.
[@_pauljoyce]
[] NEW: Arne Slot had some discussions with Liverpool and was convinced. His agent Rafaela Pimenta is discussing with Liverpool the important contract details. More meetings are planned in the coming days & weeks to finalise the deal.
[] NEW: Slot and his family have already started looking for accommodation in or around Liverpool. The intention is that, if a deal gets off the ground, the entire family will move with it.

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. No need for major overhaul of the squad / playing style. The academy is set up to mirror the first team in stylistic and formation terms etc etc. slot can take over, put his stamp on the current squat, make same number of signings we would have if Klopp was still in charge and the train keeps rolling…

That’s seems to have been the FSG plan from the start. Build a club with a system and academy that will carry on the same way not matter who is in charge to make any changes in manager less problematic. Make sure you have the best behind the scenes people as well. Having more of a first team coach rather than a manager doing more than he needs.

Here’s hopingOriginally posted by EwarWoo View PostBasically a bootroom 2.0, with the knowledge spread out to give it resiliance. Makes sense.
I must admit to feeling underwhelmed from our 1st to 2nd options to Slot. Time will tell I suppose
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.
