I think we need to sort the TAA position out. I think he needs to go into midfield and we can have a proper back line IMO it gives us a better balance as this hybrid stuff leaves us vulnerable against the better sides

Salah acts as our best outlet, brings in other players and scores crucial goals from time to time. Most our strikers are way behind him in terms of ability.Originally posted by BootRoom View Post
Salah doesn't take on players anymore like Martinelli does, for instance. He relies on the rest of the team carving out chances.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

We didn’t even put out our best team. We did nothin to counter the pace of Martinelli, deliberately left a big hole at right back and watched him tear us a new arse. We decided Grevenberch was the man to provide cover on that side (mental choice). Really poor decisions from the manager and meant it was an uphill battle from the off.Originally posted by labourRed View PostArsenal were beatable there, we just didn't show up. A few players off the pace and too many ****e performances. Big doubts on a league push. City's again at a canter I reckon.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

I don't want to have a go at Gravenberch but I don’t think we can play hum yet against the bigger sides. Not sure why he seems to be ahead of Elliott in the pecking orderThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Absolutely. Trent offered zero with the ball, yet we chose to massively expose the right side of the pitch to a fast winger. And we did this with trent straight back from injury with Gravenberch in front of him. None of it made sense. Maybe there’s a time and place, but this wasn’t it.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI think we need to sort the TAA position out. I think it's because he has a bit of pace that Elliott doesn't have.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI don't want to have a go at Gravenberch but I don’t think we can play hum yet against the bigger sides. Not sure why he seems to be ahead of Elliott in the pecking order
I'm getting worried about Elliott. He looks great when we have the other team under pressure all the time but when the chips are down I think he's a bit of a liablity, like Thiago.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

A reality check if you ask me. First real defeat of the season on the one hand, but we have too many draws, can't beat a top team in the League (not just this season) and some of the players are really not up to it - probably even some of the old guard. We're still a good team but to win a title it takes a lot more than this.
Also this documentary can seriously **** off, are we gonna be forced to look at professionally directed scenes of this meltdown on twitter for the entirety of next season as well?
Seriously **** off whoever wanted to do this.

I know we were ****, but the decision by the ref not to give the foul on Nunez, which Nunez got booked for complaining about before the 3rd goal ended it as a contest, could easily have been a 2nd yellow for Gabriel. Shocking decision which the ref bottled IMOThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Our first defeat since the Spurs debacle.
What’s important here is the response, every team has a bad day, every team loses from time to time. What we do next matters and we have Burnley at home next weekend.
If City win their two games in hand they go 1 point ahead of us - which brings back too many memories. The one positive for me this season is there are a lot of teams with something to play for so I’d say it’s not likely that any team is going on a 15 match winning streak.
It is going to be a bun fight this season. We are going to have to accept that and scrap. And support.Last edited by Buzzo; 04-02-24, 08:02 PM.Modifying post.
