No need to be extra cautious with Gomez at LB. Play Robertson (or Tsimikas) for a left footer putting in dangerous balls to Nunez. While Diaz can cut inside.

That's the team I would go with. Very close to being our strongest starting XI imo in terms of balance.

Only three outfield guys that would get into that team imo if we had a fully fit squad would be Konate, Jones and Jota for Quansah, Szobo and Diaz.


And that is not me saying that guys like TAA, Thiago etc are not super talented or anything like that. I just think we have an amazing balance and solidity to the starting team


The squad is just stacked with talent and the young guys coming through the ranks so strongly this season bodes so well for the coming seasons.


I mean if in August someone said that TAA, Thiago and Matip will miss big chunks of the season but by putting Bradley, Quansah and Jones into their positions we would actually look more solid and more of an attacking threat, that person would have been laughed out of it.


To a lesser degree the same applies to Alisson and Robertson being replaced by Kelleher and Gomez.
