We really did need to win that game. I only feel relief, no elation. We're not going to win the league, but there's no reason we should make it east for dopers.

But timings of games aside... 2nd or 3rd is what beckons. At the start of the season, I think most of us said a trophy and champions league place would be enough, so I guess we'll have delivered on that, although the Caraboa is less a cup than a bauble.

Gakpo and Jota to start the rest of the games. As soon as Jota was through you knew a goal was coming.

Don’t know who you pick out of the other 3 to play with them. Salah just looks so slow in everything he does now. I think I’ve joined the time for Mo to go camp. Probably best for the new manager to get someone in that he can use to get the attack going again in his system.

I'd be interested to know how much of the changes at the start were due to tiredness and how much were due to form. As some of the forwards in particular needed dropping due to form, I think the front three was much more in form than the guys they replaced.

Even a non-shooting Gakpo offers more than Darwin and Mo have done in recent months.

I see no reason why Gapko, Diaz and Jota don't start midweek

I'd love to know more about the behind the scenes thought process. My guess - broken record - is too many players have been brought back too early.
