For the whole month of April Klopp has continued to play attackers who can’t score for toffee. His job is to find a way, which he did against Fulham, and the reverted back to the probe ****e. It’s on him, his selections, his purchases, his subs, his tactical rigidity, his failure to motivate. He has so much credit in the bank, but the buck stops with the manager.

In retrospect, you do have to wonder how much sense there was in him saying he was leaving so early? It looks like a lot of baggage for the entire squad right now. The uncertainty of what the future might hold just has to be a distraction. And the closer it gets the more of a factor it becomes.

It worked for a while, just Max out the emotional engagement, but how many games in a row can they ‘do it for Jurgen’? It looks like there’s little else now.

Throw in some ****ing horrendous officiating which would have enabled us a buffer going into April. Our usual brutal run of injuries, and it’s just not meant to be.
