I dont know. If Slot stays it feels like no responsibility is being taken for the ****show happening right now.

Klopp rebuilt Liverpool like a modern day Shankly and we have dismantled everything he had instilled into the team in a single season. Everyone is hiding from this fact.

The teams identity has been erased, and replaced with a bucket of meh.

It feels like everyone is pulling in a different direction. Players not being bought for the system. The system not suiting the players or league. And no accountability for any of this. Slot has ****ed things up, no doubt. But he is not alone.

That is something we need to stop doing. We cannot compare Slot or anyone else that comes in to Klopp.


We are not getting another Klopp. He, like Shankly and like Paisley, is a once off type of football manager. Could throw Kenny in there too.

Those guys that tick every single box as a coach, as a manager, as a personality and as a human being are so so rare. All you can do is enjoy their stays and cherish the time you get to watch them being them.

We have had other managers that ticked some of the boxes needed to be that close to perfect man for the club and city, but none ticked all the boxes like that quartet imo.

Compared to Klopp any manager we get is a step down on at least some levels.

We need to take all the new guys on their own merits. Slot for his part has had one amazing season and one poor season. That's what Slot gets to own and be judged upon. What Klopp did or what Klopp built does not matter in relation to anyone else as without Klopp those things were always going to be transitory.

We got lucky in the period from Shankly to Kenny (with Joe in there too) in that we had a crazy run of high calibre managers and men. Just look though at the run from Souness to Brendan Rogers. Two very good managers in there (Ged and Rafa) and the rest were a mixed bag, but no ticking of all the boxes on and off the pitch. No guy that made us the very best on the pitch and that felt like he was the very best type of person off of it at the same time. We had guys that were the latter without the former and a lot of guys that were neither.

Some time in the future we are going to be lucky enough to see another amazing personality and manager in charge of the team but it might take two seasons it might take twenty seasons before we see that again.

I'm just glad I got to live through our Klopp era, but it has ended and experience has taught that making comparisons to genuine GOATs of the past only ends with the tainting of the present if those comparisons are being made in a "why can we not have the same right now?" kind of way

If as seems to be the case he is staying here next season that is IMO a massive call by the club (personally I feel at this point keeping him is at least as much of a risk as replacing him). The club really need to get the recruitment right, get the attitude right in the dressing room, and translate that into performances and results on the pitch. We need to push on and win some trophies or at the very least we need to be in the title race at this time next season, to be honest I am not currently optimistic that that happens.

I see it going one of two ways either we are able to get our **** together and find ourselves in that position next season, or it completely goes to **** and the manager is under immense pressure by Christmas. This feels very sink or swim.

There seems to be a bit more criticism from the press today about Slot. James Pearce mentioned this.

"It's fair to ask questions about the preparations. A lot of the players had enjoyed mini breaks in Europe after being given some time off after the win over Crystal Palace. If Slot thought that a breather would do them good then he was mistaken. Instead they were lethargic and lacked intensity!"

It’s an absolute joke. Players and agents are laughing all the way to the bank and ‘work’ is a holiday camp where the most strenuous part of the day is lifting the lattes to their gobs. Meanwhile Edwards and Hughes couldn’t give a toss as they will be off to the next payday next year. Probably Chelsea along with Alonso.

As great as he has been for us, he has played a part of his own this season in terms of being utter muck on the pitch and causing plenty of his own off pitch dramas.

3 days off training a week and we wonder why players can't run.

And Alonso off to Chelsea.

Could be grim watching us waste a summer backing Slot. Although no contract gives me a glimmer of hope.

Slot is done here, public backing stuff is just to keep the peace until the season ends. The fans are done with him, the players have looked done with him for months & there is no way the owners haven't noticed that.

I think it's important to look at the whole season, we've been maddeningly inconsistent all season, we've had poor results against the top sides (Arsenal, Chelsea, Utd, City) - W1 – D1 – L5, so far, with both Manchester sides completing the double over us.

Good performances are few and we've been lucky as well, our first five we scraped through. If FSG continue with this we're heading for a change in October probably at the latest.

My concerns aren't so much the performances on the pitch which have been poor. I think you can accept some mitigation for that, the Jota situation, the lack of an appropriate squad (which isn't his fault). I can accept that he doesn't want to play that way but has been forced into it because of injuries, the fall off of Salah which no one was expecting and the injuries to other players who would have been key to how we had hoped to play (Isak, Ekitike) and injuries to the likes of Bradley who have forced us to play player out of position etc. But for me even with the players we have had availiable we have under performed this season.

The thing that concerns me most is the seemingly changing of attitudes, standards and level of professionalism etc. Salah has talked about this recently and his 'role' in people being in the gym before training etc. There have been a few 'unprofessional' incidents which I don't think have been dealt with appropriately by the management or senior players in the squad (Ekitike red card and shirt swap, Szoboszlai having a go at the fans). It seems like the players get more time off now, and while managers typically do that to reward players, with the performances the players have put in this season I don't think they have earned that. I don't know if that this is the case but with Slot's living situation it is easy for people to be cynical and say he is giving players time off because he wants time off rather than time off being what is beneficial to the players or the team. For me the letting players have time to go on holiday after the title was won but before the end of the season last year was a problem. Standards have dropped and to be honest I don't see how you get them back without significant changes in the leadership/management of the side.
