Had to listen to Michelle chatting **** to me yesterday about the ones she got or preordered, so figured you might have been getting some of them as well.

She has bought a Lego set for me too, not a Star Wars one though, so now I don't know if I have to build the damn thing or will I just leave the box sit there until I can get one of my goddaughters to build it for me and then I pass it off as having done it myself

Both have wrote negative articles a few months back too, it would appear they are now writing as worried fans rather than echoing any specific pre approved narrative from the club.

I think they wouldn’t want to lose “access” and they usually spout the club’s stance, worried fans maybe but they won’t do anything to upset the applecart. Joyce explicitly said “if he stays” (or something to that effect) in his article last night

I think it's important to look at the whole season, we've been maddeningly inconsistent all season, we've had poor results against the top sides (Arsenal, Chelsea, Utd, City) - W1 – D1 – L5, so far, with both Manchester sides completing the double over us.

Good performances are few and we've been lucky as well, our first five we scraped through. If FSG continue with this we're heading for a change in October probably at the latest.

The mad thing is that the win and the draw was against Arsenal.

Klopp had a high intentsiy. Slot seems to be the exact opposite.

I have no idea of the style we are meant to be using other than possession football.

Slot seems to have had no understanding of the need to compete physically, despite a year in the Premier League as winners. He seems to have the expectation that other teams will let us play around them based on reputation.

But were we ever going to have a seamless transition from Klopp to another guy if that another guy was not already within the club or had been part of a Klopp set up before?


If we had gotten Alonso in two summers we probably would have had a transition season that first season and no title as Alonso's set up is built around slow methodical build up play as well.

We also had and have a lot of Klopp players who are at the end or near their ends in terms of being able to give even 75% of what they could give on the pitch and like for like replacements in terms of quality and what they gave are not really out there.

Can see no CB in the game today that would bring what peak VVD brought, same goes for peak Salah, Alisson, Robertsaon etc. So whilst we can bring in guys of high quality or guys we think will become high quality, the mesh of styles/personalities will not be the same and a rebuild will be needed.

Think in many ways Slot winning the title last season cursed him as any significant drop off, let alone the shyte show that this season has been, would have damned him.

In some ways Klopp's last season is similar to that of Kenny. The last hurrahs of a great team and manager, but in the case of Klopp's team the fall off was not as dramatic at first as Slot did a fantastic job in his first season.

Think this season we have suffered the cost (and even without taking into account the big impact of Jota's passing) of gambling on a two season rebuild that would be propped up by the old guard still having enough in them to bolster the first season of that rebuild.

Can see the logic of it too as we lost Jota, Darwin and Diaz but brought in Isak, Ekitike and Wirtz whilst thinking Salah and Gakpo would come maybe 75% close to their combined output from last season.

We got in Leoni, Kerkez and Frimpong to counter TAA leaving and to have Leoni in place to get a season's experience before going into the first team and Kerkez would of course have Robertson still here. Guehl we would have gotten save for Palace being the ones that pulled the rug out at last minute.

Then if the old guard held up fasirly well, we could then bring in a winger or wingers, a midfielder and another different in the sumer of 2026.

But pretty sure none of us saw all of Konate, Salah, MacAllister, VVD and Gakpo dropping off in the manner they have (some far worse than others of course).

Then throw in a few injuries to new players during the time they should be getting minutes and adapting (Isak, Ekitike, Wirtz, Leoni and Frimpong), plus injuries to the likes of Bradley and Gomez that then meant less cover when the newbies were out or still settling, and we have had, with the advantage of hindsight of course, the perfect storm needed to created a totally disjointed season.

The one big positive I can take from it all is that we are still looking like finishing fourth despite being about as bad as we can get, and as such a small injection of quality and physicality should see us make big strides in the right direction next season.

This season we have dropped to the level of the rest of the league with only City and Arsenal being a lot ahead of us in terms of ability to pick up points. If us at our ****test still has us ahead of 16 of the 20 teams in the league, then we are rebuilding from a relative position of strength even though this season will no doubt have drained us to the point it does not appear that way.

There was meant continuity so whoever came in it would be a seamless transition and no need for a big overhaul with a new manager. But they’ve gone away from what made the team so successful again and we’ve lost the identity and the new way simply doesn’t work and isn’t enjoyable to watch. It doesn’t have to a Klopp it’s more about carrying on with the basics that made the club successful and feared.
