He'll be sacked in the Autumn, I'm sure.

Agreed, but it is what it is. You never know - maybe we come back invigorated. As unlikely as that feels, no one saw us spending half a bill and then playing like we wanted to be relegated.Originally posted by slaine View PostBest time
once the bald **** has wasted our transfer budget, and led us to a couple of losses already... Sack him now...Really?

I saw him sitting in his seat at the end there with his staff. Sky didn’t show any of the lap the players did, I presume they did one. Feels very flat watching it.Originally posted by Cerbie View PostNot seen Slot on the LFCTV post match coverage yet. Is that a good sign? Or is he just avoiding getting booed?
The guys on TV said Slot is taking it all in and I said to my dad hopefully because he knows he’s off and this will be his last time in the dugout.

If you don't have a great season you at least want to see things start to come together at the end to at least give hope for next season. We have stumbled across the line and our form at the end of the season has been as poor as at (almost) any point this season. We haven't even been able to get some good link up play from the new signings.
It is going to be a very long summer and we almost need to get it perfect or next season is likely to be another like thisThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The teams that finished in the CL qualifying positions deserve to be there, that's how it works - the 5 teams that's finished with the best records over the course of 38 games. Only clueless people with an axe to grind would say any different. I'm not ecstatic with how the season panned out, but I'm ecstatic that we haven't missed on on the CL gravy train wonga, which I'm hoping the brainiacs in the recruitment dept will put to good use improving the team.

I get what you're saying, and technically you're right because over 38 games the teams that finished in those positions earned it under the rules that were in place. But at the same time, let's not pretend we qualified in the traditional sense either. If that extra CL place through the coefficient system didn't exist, we wouldn't actually have made it. That context matters as well. So yes, we got there officially and the financial side of it is obviously huge, but I also understand why some fans aren't exactly celebrating the achievement like it was a convincing season from us.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostThe teams that finished in the CL qualifying positions deserve to be there, that's how it works - the 5 teams that's finished with the best records over the course of 38 games. Finishing 5th is not something to celebrate, CL is the bare minimum and whether we deserve it or not we just made it by a narrow margin into a place that doesn't always exist

If I was in charge I'd bin the CL and just have the champions going forward to a knock out tournament. When it (the CL) first started out only the champions were in it, then 1st and 2nd, then 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, then 1st to 4th, and now 1st to 5th in some circumstances. Now add in winning the Europa, so qualifying in the "traditional sense" you mentioned has been a moving target since its inception.Originally posted by marcus50bucks View PostI get what you're saying, and technically you're right because over 38 games the teams that finished in those positions earned it under the rules that were in place.
