These ****s better turn up and send this man off in style.

I'll be ****ing disgusted if they half arse their way through this game like they've been doing.

Yep true that but I don’t think we need to worry.

Obviously Salah was a great buy, brilliant striker but for me Andy Robertson was also a great signing. Bought from nowhere at his last chance saloon he became the best LB in the country.

Also Milner, what a signing he became, his natural drive and dedication must have really been such a motivation to other players

When we followed up the Mane signing with Salah the following year, things were really exciting. Mo really hit the ground running starting at Watford away on the opening day of the season and pretty much scored every game. The front 3 looked electric and with Coutinho, we had the Fab-4 attacking players that could score anywhere. Genuinely electric stuff.

That all seemed to be on the ropes with Coutinho wanting to leave to go to Barcelona and a lot of us were genuinely gutted. He was the one of the four of them that at that stage was genuinely world class. And after losing Suarez a few years earlier, there was a sense that we would never really go to the next level if we kept selling our best players when the likes of Barca came calling.

Little did we know at that time that selling Coutinho would be the catalyst for arguably the best ever Liverpool team. The money re-invested to bring in Fabinho, Virgil and Alisson made us go two or three levels above where we were. Way above we all thought possible. We wanted a Liverpool team that we would have liked to think that could compete......we got a Liverpool team that would ****in dominate.

So when people ask "who was the best signing of Jurgens tenure" it is genuinely hard to give a definite answer. Virgil was brilliant and still is. Becker was the best goalie we have ever seen for **** sake. Robertson was amazing. Matip was free ffs! Mane was bought for the money we got selling Benteke. Salah was a genuine worldie. Firmino was signed during Brendans time but Jurgen made him into a brilliant player that essentially allowed Mane and Salah to go to other levels too because he was such a good partner for him. People have made good cases for Wjinaldum too.

When people ask "what was the best Liverpool transfer during Jurgens tenure" though, then it is selling Coutinho. No question.

                Good post

Being slightly pedantic for a second....Salah only became a worldie after Jurgen got his hands on him.

Salah like so many of Jurgens signings elevated their game by several levels after signing for us

Cracking read that. Thanks for putting fingers to keys, fella.

Best transfer was indeed Coutinho going out imo as well.

Best inbound one during Klopp's reign? I would put my hat on the getting of Alisson.

Think getting him in was transformative and gave us that last line of defense we simply would not have with any other keeper save.

You could argue that Salah was best in the world in his position, VVD in his, TAA as an attacking RB and so on and so on. But replace any of them with the second best or third best in the world and we would still have been a major force.

Replace Alisson with a keeper that is still world class but a few levels below Ali? I'm not so sure the ten outfield players could have made up the difference.

Take that amazing 19/20 team and take Ali out of it and that team does not get 99 points imo.

Put Ali back in and remove any one of the outfield players and replace them with a simily "top tier" player and I think we might still have gotten 99 points.

Ali has been the difference between a win and a draw or a draw or a loss too many times for me not to think he has been the glue that kept things together. So many good wins saw him keep out shots that seemed destined to be goals when the games were still scoreless or when we were hanging on a bit.

Plus for the outfield players, the attacker gets by you and he is one on one with Ali, you still much have it in your head that that is Alisson ****ing Becker between the sticks and he is going to ensure your cock up does not get punished.

Yep, if we get Allison a year earlier we don’t witness the Karius CL final…

We 100% win that game with Allison.

To be fair to Karius, we don't know what happens to Ali if he gets an elbow to the temple from that thug Ramos too.

Ali would have torn the arm off of Ramos and clubbed him to death with it.

No wonder they won, they had 13 players on their side!
