That's 1.5 Salah desired years. I don't really get where we should be earning the money to pay some of these players wages and still be signing players and still remaining in the black. Mystery to me.

Maybe you could run a ' how much prize money we have earnt' thread..!Originally posted by ChesterDave View PostWell, it's another €12,500,000 for going out 1 round later.
Premier League TV Money means about €100m for last place and half as much again for winning it. Ticket sales shirt sponsors official PArtner Yoghurts. It all adds up
I guess the official yoghurt partner does make it a little more difficult...Really?

i agree with all that, but on the same night Villa were charging £94 a ticket, you could get an Inter match ticket for £10.40; the match ticket costs are on the club. Whilst i aprreciate the games importance was bigger (Villa) those prices were set before a ball was kicked.Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostI don't go to games, so it doesn't matter much to me, but one of the comments above made me think - sthg like "We need more games given our squad is bigger". I would turn that around and say we need a bigger squad because of all these games. But if we need a bigger squad, then to be competitive we need to generate more revenue. That means more commercialism within the club. Ultimately it means higher ticket prices. And no, it's not about FSG - that would be the case whoever. Basically UEFA are bleeding fans. I have no sympathy for Man U fans, but their slogan of 'Stop Exploiting Loyalty" is a rallying cry for all fans.
Many of you might have forgotten, this, but there was a time when Chelsea were derided for having 24 players in their squad - " What? That's 2 teams!"
All of the top clubs now have at least 2 teams.

Liverpool closing in on €100 million payout
Liverpool are top of the league phase having won every single match they've played so far, and as a result have earned more than anyone in the Champions League this season.
The Reds got the base €18.62 million from UEFA, same as everyone. They received a high market pool of €31.79 million based on their five year co-efficient (their success over the last five seasons) with €10.38 million for their ten year co-efficient.
Liverpool have earned €14.70 million so far for their points total (UEFA pays out €2.1 million per win) and, should they stay in first will receive a bonus of €12.21 million plus €11 million for finishing in the top 8.
That all adds up to €98.7 million. Arne Slot's Reds can cross the €100 million threshhold by beating PSV on the road in their last group game, with the €2.1 million victory fee pushing them beyond.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

This greed is ultimately driven by the clubs and not UEFA. The new format is a direct response to the super league breakaway from a few years ago.Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostI don't go to games, so it doesn't matter much to me, but one of the comments above made me think - sthg like "We need more games given our squad is bigger".
