Been out with family today but been checking in with BBC scores all game. Nervy but 3 important points after City’s spawny late win.

Jones and Grav exceptional in there. Salah worked harder defensively than I think I’ve ever seen him, put a huge shift in for the team.

A couple of times where Dom needs to just do more offensively but can’t fault effort and role in there.

      A monster 3 points.
Szoboszlai is a weird one, his work rate off the ball is great, but it feels like he doesn’t do much with the ball, it seems like he has a fairly big chance most weeks which goes begging. But he seems to score every international break for Hungary

Not a criticism by the way just an observation

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Slot and his staff, they're not yet accustomed to just how infuriatingly incompetent PGMOL officiating is.

But every week they're finding out, fast.

Well, he almost changed the trajectory of a Euros final once he came on, so don’t agree with that

But we clearly had a plan for him today, he was mostly anonymous

No wonder Darwin, Slot and most of the bench collectively lost their **** at John Brooks with this one.

It’s standard at Anfield this season. Any challenge that is a legitimate 50/50, goes the way of the player who loses it. There were at least three of those today, yet it’s not the same in any of the other games I’ve watched.

I guess it’s just more confirmation of the Paul Tomkins analysis from a couple of years ago, Liverpool are refereed at every home game like they are the away team… and are the only team in the league who get that treatment. I’d foolishly hoped that it was personal with Jurgen, but they’ve picked straight up with it again this season.

Another way to look at that was the way they tried to man mark and double up on Grav meant that Jones got more room to make some great runs into space.

Did find it noticeable that Chelsea are the third team in a row that looked to double up on Grav by having one player man mark up up close and have a second player a bit further away trying to close down the passing avenues on the opposite side to what the man marker was coming in from.

Think it is a tactic that is a bit more difficult to do when MacAllister is in the team with Gravenberch.

Gravenberch, MacAllister and Jones could well be a ball retention machine in the centre if all three get an injury free run playing as a unit.

                        Or Salah in this case.

Love a little drive by on Nunez when he hasn't even done anything wrong hey

I thought Salah was good today, scored his pen and got the assist. Also tee’d up a few other chances with some intelligent switches and through balls. Strong on the ball and worked back (his requirement to fill in is definitely a new feature under Slot). Not an outstanding performance but a solid 7-8/10. Goal as usual, assist as usual.

The whole team really dug in today. Only conceding 3 goals this season after 8 games shows a level of cohesion defensively that we’ve not had since we won the league. Even with all of the possession Chelsea had we looked pretty solid.
Yep, one of Salah's best overall games for a while IMO. Didnt give the ball away needlessly or run into the defender. Good hold up play and picked the right passes more often than not. Great work for the Jones goal. Should've got the pen too, but its Salah the diver, so he doesn't get them

Caicedo and Lavia were very good in the middle I thought. Managed to beat our press quite a few times with nice turns and little one-twos

For me it's less of a pen if the keeper stays down after the initial contact, but he hits Jones with his body after the ball has gone past him
I don't think it was a pen at all. He gets the ball first and they collide afterwards.

I'd be absolutely fuming if that was given against us.

The Salah one on the other hand was a clear pen. No idea how that's not given tbh. He gets none of the ball and takes out his legs. It was a clumsy challenge. Yes Mo drew the contact, but its a foul anywhere else on the pitch.

While we're on **** decisions - NFI how anyone can say that wasn't last man on Jota. He was clearly through towards goal had he not got hauled down. Colwill is a good 5 paces behind the play and only catches up because Jota gets dragged back. If he is allowed to run he'd be through on goal with Colwill trying to chase him down. Whether Colwill has the pace to catch him is irrelevant.
