well he slipped as he was kicking it, so yeah the result was a bit crap, unlucky though as everything else in the lead up was good.

It wasn't a bad angle at all

The other runners pulled defenders out wide and gave him the opportunity to cut in and shoot. He slipped, it happens.

None of these guys ever pass to him in that position either btw. He's one of the only ones in our side that actually even looks to pass. In that position, Mo is 100% shooting, Gakpo 100% shooting etc.

He did make the keeper work too you bellend - we scored from the rebound

Apart from the fact that he ended up in a shooting position with a defender stood straight in front of him, the one he then kicked the ball at.

Frank Lampard made a career out of that

He didn't through, did he. He made a career of hovering around the edge of the box and shooting through/into crowds of players, not by fluffing overloads on the counter attack.

It's all fun and games when a lucky deflection gives us a sitter, but he's not scoring goals or playing particularly well and we need him to if we're going to win a title. Now the manager is playing wingers up front instead of him.

Only due to the amount of football Nunez has played recently, and the amount of energy he expends each game. Fella deserved a rest, and it worked out well...quandary now for Slot is does he stick with Diaz in the middle of the three for the weekend or does he tinker again, with Diaz having played the full 90 mins this time out.

Also, was surprised not to see Gomez come on, we subbed off Trent and Konate, and JoGo was overlooked each time, which after his weekend masterclass was a bit weird.

As Scratch said the official line from Slot is that he was minding Nunez, no Jota and Chiesa means we need to be extra careful with him. He’s gone from very little football to a lot and if we flog him then he’ll break, his tolerance needs to be built up. He also said there was a tactical perspective as well given Tah likes to dominate CFs physically but struggles a bit more with movement.

I disagree on the not playing well comment, I actually think his general play, build up and pressing from the front have been really good. He has been a contributor to our good shape and tight defence but I guess he is there to score and assist. His shot volumes are well down on previous so he’s clearly playing a more team first role with the output coming from wide.

We are winning and he is helping that, I think we can do better than both him and Jota tbh but as long as the team is winning then good.

Having said that, if the same front 3 start vs Villa then perhaps Slot is playing the media game….. it would be hard to drop any of them on form tbh.

Maybe he was looking to build Quansahs confidence back after the mistakes he made in his last game?

he didn't give Quansah very long, but I think it was exactly that, Ibu didn't need to come off.

Joe can play anywhere across the back line and has been fragile in previous seasons, so Slot will use him sparingly until is is needed to cover an injury.
