Hopefully it's a short term issue, just taking our eye off the ball after a week with a couple of big results. Potential tiredness is a big issue though going into a very intense period of the season. The performance of Gravenberch if down to tiredness would be a cause for concern as we have no one to rotate in, he has started every PL and CL game this season. Only other players to do that are VVD and Salah, the other midfielders are rotated in and out.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

There is definately a psychological advantage in playing first if you can win as it adds that bit of pressure to your rivals knowing if they don't win they will have lost ground. Works the other way if you fail to win though...

I think if you look at this from a long term perspective it’s a bit different. No one expected this to happen this season and we know the team needs some more bodies in certain areas.
If you add another quality CM who can play deep and compliments or can rotate with Gravenberch or someone who can play both deep and further forward that takes the team to another level.
You can say the same in attack. The right signing can take the attack to another level. And hopefully when he’s back to full fitness Elliot will add another dimension to the attack as we saw in preseason in the 10 role.
The right signings coming in and this team easily goes to another level next season with that added time of get used to Slots system.
As frustrating as that was it just shows the level a team needs to play at and how hard they have to work to compete with Liverpool. Second half they upped the level and that’s a great sign. Being able to respond and a manager who can tweak things.
Only positives still for me and another learning curve for the manager and his staff to take away from and understand what this team needs. If they respond like they did to the last time they dropped points they’ll go on another good run and keep the pressure on every other team chasing.

The derby will be a tough one, Everton have just found the ability to score, and it will be the last derby at Goodison so they will be up for it.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I feel like Darwin’s had more than enough chances now. He works hard, brings chaos or whatever (sometimes) and there’s some value to that, but he doesn’t justify his price tag. His price tag isn’t his fault, but unfortunately for him, that’s what hell be judged by. If we had a half decent number 9 today, we’d have won.
Also Jota is frustrating as hell- he’s missing now for 6 weeks and counting (with no return on the horizon), with an injured rib. Like seriously what is that, did he break a rib?? His apparent injury also conveniently coincides with his new baby being born. I reckon he’s just decided to take some paternity leave. For me his injury record is even more frustrating than Nunez. What’s the point if he’s missing for many months every season.I don't tip

We could have lost the game so an away point is decent. But I just can’t get over how much of a cheating cunt Anthony Gordon is. Salah did a couple of dives years ago, got a reputation for it and hasn’t got a decision since, while this guy does it multiple times a game and gets them allOriginally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostA point away considering the first half performance is a decent result. It's imperative we beat Everton though. I personally think we'll drop points again. 24 games, that's a lot of points to play for.

Yeah he's a diving prick. He's a good player. I'm pleased we stuck with Diaz though.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostWe could have lost the game so an away point is decent. I was quite encouraged by our subs tonight. It became men against boys and were it not for Kelleher we would have been praising them. We still should. TAA, Szob and even Diaz wreaked havoc on Newcastle. Can't wait to see them start against Neverton.
I'm glad we won't be the team that has to deal with Mo Salah on Saturday!!!One tit for another.

Let me guess without reading through everything. This is was all Nunez's fault ?
We dropped points entirely because he misplaced a couple of passes and couldn't stretch his leg far enough to get on the end of a header that Gakpo should've really stuck in the net.
It had absolutely nothing with the amateur-hour defending from our back 4 as a collective, braindead performances from Gomez and Robbo individually, or our midfield letting themselves get bullied or the front 3 doing **** all for 60minutes? Oh and had nothing to do with our keeper making one of the worst decisions ive seen. How was he to know Scher was behind him!?

We just don't play to his strengths now at all.Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostI've tried to support Darwin as long as he's been with us, but he is not an elite club striker. He's often a passenger and I don't buy the chaos piece. Pretty sure this is his last season for us. A fit Jota and we win that game.
Slot would be better shifting him and signing a Firmino clone as that seems to be what he's trying to turn Darwin into...except he's just not that player."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
