Brentford away Saturday 18th Jan 3pm

Brentford will be buoyed by their comeback draw vs City at home & will give us a tough match. Hopefully we see a few changes from tonight’s starting side.

Arsenal play Villa at home ( after the Home game against Spurs tomorrow) & Forest play Southampton at home the following day.

I'd bench salah. Play Diaz right. Brentford are a fit team that run a lot and are physical. Mo will just be our muscled again. But how good to bring him on with 30 minutes to go once they've been worn out by Diaz running constantly and add Bradley in at right back.

      It won't happen.

Slots not benching the club and PL top scorer, neither would I

Also Diaz was worse than Salah against Forrest

I’d have Endo over Jones in the 6 role

Brentford will sit back and counter through long passes similar to Forest. Usually through Mbeumo on their right but I wonder if they will switch him over to target Trent on our right?

Feels like Bradley has to start, to help nullify the wide threats

They are a lot more open than Forest, at least in the games I’ve seen, so while they will probably create more opportunities they will give up quite a few as well, especially in transition

                I’d not drop Gravenberch.
                Modifying post.

He was fantastic again yesterday. Looked a natural at CB. I do worry he's played too many games though.

Personally I'd have gone for a DM again this window, I feel we rely too much on MacAllister and Gravenberch, we need cover on a similar level.

In fact I'm pissed off in general that we don't seem to be buying anyone again, if there is ever a time to double-down and try and secure the title it's now!

Slot’s too reliant on the same 12-13 players which is fair as most managers work with a settled team but Grav and Mac are racking up the minutes and Mac is someone who is always on the end of a couple of harsh challenges each game.

Either he needs to trust the squad players more or we have to sign at least a defender and midfielder. Strengthen from a position of strength and get us over the line.

I’m not ‘ dropping ‘ him either. He can’t & shouldn’t play every game if we want the best out of him. If we keep flogging our players twice a week injury or fatigue is inevitable.

Totally agree. At the start of the season it made sense in that he wanted to implement his style so the less players to deal with the better. But now the season is half way through he’s really not trusting the squad to the level I’d have expected. As a result players will be getting disillusioned with their role going forward.

Yeah they in recent seasons have a habit of sitting a lot deeper and being a lot more physical/cynical when they play us compared to how they set up against a number of other teams.

Don't think they will use Mbuemo a lot on our right flank though given they will most likely have both Damsgaard and Wissa in the LW and ST roles interchanging the way we use Gakpo and Diaz in those roles. Both those guys tend to put in a hard running shift against RBs.

Would be of the same thinking as you regarding starting Bradley though.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Wissa's a handful for sure - he's got quick feet and a seemingly endless engine

After we beat them we'll be saying "Wissa going hooooome!"
