Ipswich at home Sat 25th Jan 3pm

A few players got a rest last night & a few fringe players got valuable minutes. Jones picked up a knock but was probably heading back to the bench as Szobo, Gravenberch & Macca are the established CM partnerships.

Trent, Ibou & Robbo potentially all come back in & then who joins Mo up front? Diaz & Gakpo? I’d think so.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Yeah imo that'll be the front line & midfield. You would imagine it'll be Trent-Ibou-VVD-Robbo at the back. Very strong line up and lads should be fresh enough. I have no doubts that Ipswich will play the game like their lives depended on it after getting trounced at home to City... of course they will Liverpool at Anfield is a cup final for many sides. Need an early goal and some first half dominance to kill them off.

I reckon Diaz gets dropped for Gakpo on the left, Salah on the right and Nunez in the middle.

Nunez is in the shop window, I think he'll get plenty of game time in January

I think Diaz will play 9, to try and move their big CBs around

Diaz played 75 mins & Darwin all 90 last night so make of that what you will. It’s interesting that twice Chiesa has come on at LW when I thought we’d be seeing him subbed on for Mo on the right.

You can't take mo off with his contract up in the air.

Yep fair point - we have a week between PL games next weekend so I'm wondering if Slot is planning to rotate quite heavily for PSV next week and /or the Spurs CC and Plymouth FA cup games

This way Diaz, Salah, Grav etc play on Sat against Ipswich then again the following Sat vs Bournemouth, and then not again till Everton on Feb 12

Definitely for the PSV & Plymouth games imo but might need to go strong for the Spurs game. Hopefully we can dispatch Ipswich without any drama.

Well you can but who knows what his reaction would be.

I wonder if Arne’s ego ( not that I’ve seen any indication of one ) might influence how strong we go with him returning to Holland for his first trip there as the coach of the all conquering, headline making , some saying the best team in the world at present? I’m sure we’ll see something like last night with a few getting a rest & players like Nunez, Endo etc getting starts

He defo would enjoy seeing his team beat PSV. Have little doubt about that.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Yep think you might be right on that

Would love it, just love it, if Salah, Grav, VVD didn't get on the plane to PSV but that's unlikely, as you say SB

Is the weather in Ireland going over Liverpool? Any chance this is off?
