Should be long gone by Saturday. The worst of it subsided here an hour so so ago.
Few minor gusts now and then at present but the main body of it is very much enroute to Scotland.
Ireland did get a new record gust speed as the wind speed hit over 180km/h in county Galway overnight.
Not as bad here in county Cork where it was strong but peaked at a smidge over 130 km/h. Lots of rain with it round here though and a few trees down.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Might be some flight delays carrying over from today so best check with your airline well in advance just in case.
Enjoy your trip. If you are walking by the GPO on O Connell Street in Dublin, the lad in the tracksuit that stands by the entrance there is Dan Perkins.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Spoke to my mum just now, power is out, she said madness in the shops yesterday with people “preparing” for the storm

Hope power being out is as bad as it got for your folk. Chunks of where they are in Clare and parts of nearby Limerick are without power apparantly.
Yeah I came very close to dissing Dublin but I would ask why he did not go south rather than west.
I do like Galway a lot but Cork is easier to fly into from the UK and of course it's CORK so automatically better than Dublin.
Mezmey and Mrs Mezmey could have spent the weekend walking the streets of Cork and marvelling at the fact they may have walked on the same pavement that was walked upon by Doc/PolishNev/Mr Pink/FrankThe Tank.
Instead they get to go to Dublin and get asked if they have any spare change by Dan Perkins/BrightRed/Angry Red and so on.
Yeah I heard about all the panic buying. Not sure what has happened to a chunk of the Irish people but they sure love rushing out for trolly loads of milk and toilet rolls at the hint of a bit of bad weather.
The Tesco off of Paul Street was nearly stripped bare the last time we had a storm warning here and apparantly folk were doing the same in shops on Wednesday and Thursday this week for a one night storm
I blame the first covid lockdown as it was crazy when that first lockdown was announced. People were out stocking up with months worth of produce.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I'll let Nev come by at some point and convey the Southern take on Drogheda for me
Let me just say I am now on your wife's side.
