CL. PSV away Wednesday 29th Jan 8pm

With another big game coming up vs Bournmouth on Saturday surely we use the squad for this one.

Kelleher maybe, Bradley, Endo, Quansah, Tsimikas , Nunez probably, Chiesa & Elliot hopefully
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

With it being wednesday i think it will be a second string.

Add Morton, Nyoni inb to that mix too

Yeah as many second stringers/squaddies as possible would be nice.

Yep Wednesday to Saturday isn’t much recovery time on top of our recent playing load

I think we'll go full strength. It seems to be the way slot likes to go.

Strong but with some rotation. Our strongest midfield started yesterday, I doubt all 3 start this one.

I wonder if there is a rule on playing a weakened team? There are lots of implications now with the new format.

A weakened team for us would still be stronger than a lot of team in the competition though.

We could put out a mostly second string team that would have maybe 8 full internationals in it.

Plus we would still be using players from our registered CL squad

It’s the same rules as the previous format. As long your team is made up of players from your named 25 man squad list then you’re ok.

If you were going to field a significant number of youngsters from your B list, then you’d be at risk of punishment unless you had the injuries in your main squad to justify it.

Slot won't want to go back there and risk getting beaten.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

I wonder if Danns might get a decent number of minutes, if not starting. I thought it odd that he came on earlier than Chiesa yesterday.

I get the impression he hates getting beaten in general. It definitely requires resting some players given the context of the season. Especially after what happened at the end of last season.

I don't disagree that players are being well managed. But surely you can countenance the possibility of an injury, similar to the impact one Jota suffered in a similar dead rubber a few years ago.
