I loved seeing us play a low block second half. Proper bus parking. Not seen us do that since Rafa left. That tactical versatility in and out of possession is a big reason as to why we are top of the League. Knowing we’ve got all of these different elements to our game and can execute must make us hard to plan to play against, that’s the biggest (and for me it is massive) change that Slot has brought where as with Klopp his approach would be that we would dominate in one way and that would work more often than not but it relieved heavily on certain factors being executed perfectly. The obsession with possession and the need to always play out from the back nowadays has had a weird impact. Teams like Southampton with their old boss trying to play more like that than teams at the top.

It so good to see such a flexible team and the ability to execute the tactics as well. Most of the second half all the goal kicks went the same way. VVD to Ali to Konate to Trent then long. No over playing to get in trouble and happy to concede possession but giving it to them in their half so the team is set defensively and no chance of a counter or catching us not set.

Stop the clip 20secs in, you can see Konate's foot on top. It was the reaction that Konate laughed about, not the decision to give a foul, IMO

Because he threw his body/leg into konate to block him. It looked like a konate fouled at first but attacker had no business thrusting his foot out like that.

I like that analysis of the second goal and the run from Jones. You don’t always pick up on these little things and so much of the good work players do is off the ball and under appreciated.

Also the closing down to win the corner for the first goal, looks exactly the same as the Villa game which led to the first goal. They look so organised and know what to do.
