So, after the side discussion on Ramadan and Mo last night, I downloaded his all competition stats from TransferMarkt. He only plays a couple of games during Ramadan in his first 2 seasons and none in the Pandemic season.

Looking at the last 5 seasons this is what his stats look like.



4 out of 5 seasons he has significantly under performed during Ramadan.

You know if we had another good striker he'd be able to pick up the slack while salah is dead for a month or so.

Given both Klopp and Slot's reluctance to sub/rest Salah, it almost feels like part of his contract is based on play time, and we had to fold to that demand in order to keep him on the books. Cos there are times when it is obvious he is not on the pace, but we still keep him on the field.

If we had a striker good enough to pick up that sort of slack, then he would be a starter and we would still need a quality player wide right to cover for Salah.



What is a bit nuts at present is that we have Chiesa in the squad and we are not using him to give Salah some rest or to start on the left whilst Gakpo is regaining fitness/sharpness.
