I got to say look what an effort it took to beat a team missing VVD and Mac Allister plus other players who would usually start and have been off in Dubai all week. That makes me happy with how good our team is, same as last week. Even when they’re not fully at it you have to play to some level to beat them.

We have literally nothing to play for and they needed the win. Still 12 points clear at the top, and Slot is able to experiment and rest key players. Not sure any of them really stuck a hand up.

Konate and Qunsah were awful.

We lack real leadership at the back without Virgil - he organises the defence.

Right at the start of the game it was a shame Dom didn’t look up and see the run Chiesa was making as it was a simple enough pass to put him through on goal.

Maybe that’s why Konate isn’t being offered what he may want. He’s not the leader to take over the defence when VVD goes. Take the chance to get that player in now and let him go if he won’t sign. Time for a bit more ruthlessness and upgrade along the way.

The only one I’d keep from that bunch at the moment would be Endo who has done well whenever he’s been given a chance. Maybe the plan should be to improve the attack and defence now, keep Endo for next year and then add there unless there is money and the right player available now.

So I’d say that was the final curtain call for Chiesa, Tsimikas & Nunez but Harvey Elliot proved he’s worthy of a squad role. Endo’s versatility should he choose to stay means I’d keep him for now too.
