According to the Liverpool Echo, Reds manager Arne Slot has now set Tuesday (July 8) as the new start date for pre-season, allowing players and staff additional time to grieve and process the devastating news.

Meanwhile, the club are still understood to be weighing up whether to proceed with their first friendly of the summer against Preston North End, which is currently scheduled for Sunday, July 13 at Deepdale.

Discussions are likely to take place once players have returned to training, with a decision to be made following consultation with the squad.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

It's always painful to lose some-one, especially so young and so tragically. But the living have a duty to live, so we should just get on with it.
      Really?

I think it’ll be good for the players to have a change of headspace if that’s at all possible.

Yeah just having something different to focus on (despite the place they are in having reminders all around the place) might be good for some of them.

Training also gives them all a safe space away from prying eyes to talk/grieve/come to terms etc.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Yeah apart from a few photos of players cars arriving yesterday there was a full media blackout it seems which is good for everyone at the Club.

I wonder how they deal with it...is Jota's place still there in the dressing room, or would that just serve as a constant reminder. Do they leave it there until all the players are back, and then one day it's just gone? I'm not sure what I would want if I was a player. The constant reminder would be hard to take, but just seeing his name gone from the dressing room would also be hard to take.

That's a really difficult one to make a call on. I expect Slot will be working closely with Virgil and Robbo to ensure they are respectful and sympathetic.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

Think if it were me, I would remove his place from the dressing room but use the name plate and picture from his dressing room place and incorporate them into a memorial/tribute for him elsewhere in the stadium.

I like that....it takes away the constant echo of his name, but also gives the players a place to visit if they ever just feel the need to...I dunno, chat with his memory.

Renewed links on Robbo and AM - They've only signed a new GK so far !
I make no apologies, this is me

Would Robbo would be deputy captain if he stayed? Or should it be a regular?

I dont feel like there are many vocal personalities on the pitch now, if I had one criticism. I guess its still a young squad again. I do wonder if we could sign an older milner type midfielder. Not sure if Endo really fits that mold or not.
