Isak not in Newcastle tour squad

Newcastle United have announced the first team squad that has departed for the club’s 2025 Asia Tour and there is one glaring omission...

Striker Alexander Isak hasn't been named in the 30-man squad with the club announcing he misses out with a "minor thigh injury".

Defender Lewis Hall is back involved after missing the second-half of the 2024-25 season with a foot injury.

What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

    Batman

    F*** off!!!

I'd say we have a fair few sales to completed first before it even becomes an option? Nunez, Diaz, Elliott and Chiesa probably all need to leave for good fees first?

I think Diaz is closer to leaving than Nunez at the moment, purely because we have good cover on the left side of attack, but not so much centrally. My personal feeling is that there is interest in Nunez, but we only sell if we get the green light to move for Isak.

That lot would create funds upwards of £150m more than enough to cover Isak and wages, I also think a few of the young uns will go which will beef up the PSR element

PSR isn't an issue I think I read we could spend another ~£200m without selling anyone and it won't be a problem.

But even so for PSR sales of Diaz and Nunez would yield massive profits Diaz currently has a book value of ~£15m Nunez probably ~£25-30m sell for anything above that and it's profit. As you say the likes of Elliott, Morton and Doak would be more or less pure profit from a PSR point of view. Only player we could struggle to turn a profit on who looks like going would be Chiesa. Sell all those for the types of fees being mentioned and we are probably looking at close to £150m profit from a PSR point of view

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yep - PSR isn't an issue, and we could go further this year but that would have limits on future purchases down the lines - Also FSG do like to balance their books lol

No way we're balancing the books this summer

A crowd of 20,000 turned up to watch us train yesterday, that’s bigger than a some of the club World Cup matches

And yet that has not stopped them expanding the stadium so they can claim increased matchday revenue.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

We’ve really got a massive following in Asia. I called in to Thailand on my way home from a trip to the UK 28 years ago & we went into a bar / restaurant in Koh Samui & it was an absolute shrine to LFC & really impressive. I spoke with the owner & shook hands etc & told him I was born in Liverpool & I’d just been to do the Anfield tour ( as it was the off season & no games ) & he called all his mates over & told them this guys been to Anfield which obviously impressed every one of them as lots of patting on the back etc. We went back there several times as I’d rather support a Red than any old Joe.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

The omission of Nunez and Diaz is bigger news. Hope the latter is replaced.
