Agree big time on Babbel......pity about his injury / disease. Was a ****in brilliant player.
That team under Houllier was flying and when we won the cup treble it was obvious that we were close. We were very hard to beat and had some very good options. I'd nearly compare them to the present day Arsenal team in that we were strong offensively but not really epic. But ****in hard to beat.
Spunking the transfer kitty on Diouf, Diao and Cheyrou was what ****ed it up in a big way when we needed to make the final step. Anelka and Duff would have been brilliant instead and were there to be signed. **** sakeComment

GH lost it after his heart condition and was never quite the same thereafter. The summer when we decided not to keep Anelka and instead got Diouf was one of those "what could have been" points in time.It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.Comment
