worried about the lack of depth there & hopefully we can get Isa over the line quickly enough.

I was thinking that as well. So Gakpo becomes the bench super sub for the second halves.
      One tit for another.

Yeah it’ll be Isak or Barcola you’d think.

We certainly had more quality but they had more continuity and a bit of quality themselves too. It's the charity shield who gives a **** really, once we make the necessary additions (sooner rather than later) and start to roll in the league it's all good.
Pep seemed to think it's a major trophy...!

What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Must be a bit of a fairy tale for Crystal Palace supporters to be fair.

Beat man city in the FA cup final to win a major trophy and then beat the league champions in the Charity shield a few months later.

And then get the news that their appeal to play in the Europa League was turned down. The highs & lows of football fans.

Is a joke that the outcome of their appeal took so long to be announced as well. As a club they were left in limbo not knowing what to plan for logistically or financially.

Palace really deserve these good times. Hope they win another cup this season.

I totally agree that quality cover in the middle was an issue last season however I do think if we spent 100m (give or take) on a midfielder then it would be fair to say that player would be expected to play more often than not and as such somebody would have to give to give him that playing time.

Course maybe the club's pockets are far deeper than I reckon and a massive money purchase might go into rotation for a season.

Whatever that we may disagree on with regards a transfer like that being a nailed on starter or being part of the roatation with the other guys in similar positions, it would be a very nice headache for Slot to happen were we to bring in a quality CM on top of those we already have.
If we signed Wharton, who I very much like, it would be as a replacement for Macca. South American players have always had this thing about playing for Barca or Madrid. I don’t think it will happen though as I’ve a feeling he’ll be at City by the end of this transfer window.

I like Wharton, very tidy player. Would be a great backup or rotation option for Grav IMHO.

Haven’t scrolled through as the Tapatalk app is now even worse than before. But both Palace goals were Virgil’s fault, he’s been ill, so hopefully it’s about getting the minutes in for Friday.

That's a good point actually. Hadn't seen it mentioned at all, only the 10,000 Tweets about how he's past it (again).
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He played some nice long balls but he sloppily gave the ball away 3 times in quick succession in the second half, two of which left to very dangerous counter attacks

CJ doesn’t get the plaudits but his passing is very precise and measured, Dom takes a few too many risks and gets impatient

Szob really struggled imo and was very sloppy, Jones was and is very to tidy on the ball but he takes to long to release it imo and it was made more evident when comparing him to Wharton who is so quick to release the ball and a huge reason why Palace are so good on the counter.
