I still can’t believe he smashed it in top bins. Zero deception. Nobody else around the ball. Just Dom and the ball. I don’t think anyone expected him to score, even when you look on the Kop there is not exactly expectation. My main thoughts were waaaaay too far out (but with a faint recollection of some Szoboslai Hungary FK goals). In terms of distance it reminded me of the Gaza FK (against Arsenal at Wembley). In terms of being probably the perfect way to win a game like yesterdays it was perfect on every level!
I missed it...I saw the position of the free kick and decided that it was an opportune moment to nip to the kitchen for a top-up. Could hear the TV volume go up a bit and thought that maybe there was some argy-bargy in the penalty area, but nothing more than that. Pleasant surprise to walk back in to some amazing replays!
What was Raya doing, with his positioning? not expecting him to save it or signing any blame, or taking anything away from Szoboszlai, but just noticed he positions himself well off to the other side before moving to the middle of the goal when Szoboszlai starts his run up, seems a bit odd but you could also see it as a tempter to see if you could hit that side of the goal quicker than he can get across
On MotD, Joe Hart talked about the 2 man wall we formed blocking Raya's view of the ball and Dom, so he stepped to the side to have eyes on the ball and the taker, then shuffled over when our wall broke to be more central, and then had to quick step over to try and reach the ball.
Aye, I wasn't bothered at all by the first half, was happy to see it like a tough away game, just stay in it and don't do anything stupid. Always expected that we'd be better 2nd half, that we'd have the winning mentality and that we had more players capable of individual brilliance.
I didn't want to scud us, but I was delighted when I seen Martinelli (crap), Gyokeres (donkey) and Madueke (no end product) up front. Especially when he play 7 defenders behind them.
Was a tight game, but even if Arsenal took the lead, I always expected us to get at least one back. They din't really deserve to score though.
They really missed Saka and Ødegaard yesterday. But it's good to see their new attacking signings are total ****

Obviously he knows better than me but I would have thought moving and stopping, setting yourself and then moving again in that time frame is a big ask, but maybe he can do it. As I said seeing that positioning might make it tempting for Szoboszlai
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Wait for some pedantic arsehole to pipe up and tell you it wasn't top bins, that the ball dipped so much it went in just over halfway up the goal post. I can guarantee it.
I'd say it was somewhere in between.
