We won but again we made hard work of it, last season Slot tweaked Klopp’s system and made us more effective. In addition, when we got ahead we managed games so we could conserve energy.

This season we are shoehorning a few lads into the side that seem at odds with roles we are asking the to play.

At Bournemouth Kerkez was an all action attacking fullback, we seem to be asking him to invert and he rarely goes wide. It seems an unusual fit for both him and us

Wirtz was a left sided 10 who dominated that side, now he is expected to lead all of our creativity and we are marginalising Salah (who has been poor) to to detriment of our creativity

I have no doubt these guys know far better than me but we miss someone like Diaz these games, someone who’s direct. Gakpo isn’t starting 11 quality for me, good at 4th choice attacker

I saw this tweet from Si Brundish

We won and we have max points but I’m not seeing the process building yet, as I said earlier. To quote a famous ex manager “here we are top of the league with all these problems”

Couldn't disagree more. Baffles me how underrated he is by supporters.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

We are 4 games into the season FFS and they have been difficult games. We don't know how good our system is yet or who will prosper in it

Hard to argue with what he is doing with 12 points from 12, might not be pretty, but it’s effective, for now…

              Look at the bigger picture.

Big changes to the squad. Both RB’s have been out meaning Dom has played there the last two games and when he’s back in the midfield you can see the difference he makes.

Alexis isn’t match fit yet and is a big part of the team. Some of the new players haven’t settled in yet which is normal, players get accustomed at different rates. Look at Fab and Robertson and how good they ended up being.

Isak took longer to get in and I think he’ll make a massive difference and unlock a lot of the attack and take the pressure off Ekitike.

And the tweaks Slot has made to the system. And I said it before they might have made changes to the preparations for the season to address the regular second half of the season dip the team has consistently had. Maybe they’ve looked at ways to get the team to peak in the second half of the season and it’s making things a bit slower to start the season.

Then you add in how players might be dealing with the loss of Jota and maybe their escape from the world used to be getting on the pitch and training and playing has now become a constant reminder of him.

As I said, I’ve faith in our title winning manager and our elite recruitment and I’ve confidence that it will come good. However, but nobody can tell me that they are seeing a process in our buildup from game to game, in 4 games under Slot last season I could already see patterns of play and a different identity. We’ve isolated Salah and are playing through Wirtz who need to acclimatise still.

We’ve a hot hand right now and things are going our way, im looking forward to when it starts to click

Rio played a great pass to Frimpong to create one of the few chances in the game.

                        didn't feel like that.
                        Really?

Disagree, Wirtz was bought to be the new focal point of the team and more should go through him centrally. He was most effective there for Leverkusen and only occasionally plays wide left, often for Germany and not at club level.

Salah is definitely still getting used to the connections between him and Wirtz and him and Ekitike but so are most of the team.

Wirtz wanted the ball a lot in that first half and didn’t get it. Sometimes he was in great space but it didn’t come quick enough to him.

He needs to have more time with the ball face to goal and when he did that in the second half, he looked like more of a threat
                          Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

You reckon?? I thought he was far too two dimensional. Basically all he can do is either cut in and shoot (which easily gets blocked in a game like that) or he goes to the byline and floats in a cross that is easily cleared.

Like he wasn't bad, but his style of play is so slow and predictable IMO.

Rio totally changed things when he came on running at people and taking the game on.

We're not marginalising him at all. He's been ****ing wank and loses the ball any time he tries to do something. LB's have him in their pocket.

I cannot believe Slot didnt sub him yesterday. Wirtz gets hooked and was actually trying to link things and really getting into the game as we piled on the pressure. Salah ****ed up over and over again.

But yeah...he scored a pen, so it all gets swept under the carpet as usual

We've gone from LB is nailed for years to eh.. maybe not.
Don't think he's headless at all. Just too eager at times.

He didnt play badly, just got hooked because of the stupid dive and then they started targeting that side.
