I mean if its one up front he is 3rd choice. If Nunez does come in, I dont think he has the mobility to play wider. The pace and physicallity seemed too much, but there is a player in there somewhere. We may be bound by funds though

He's only 28, he should be in his prime now. He doesn't look THAT slow, but does anyone know if he used to be quicker? Perhaps injuries taken their toll?

Chiesa was a rapid wide attacker some years ago and shone for the Italian side that won the Euros. He suffered a pretty bad ACL which seems to impacted his base speed and that is why he had a stop start season with Juve before they let us sign him on the cheap. I love the guy but he isn't up to what we need, I would think that Munoz takes his place in the squad for probably about half of the wages that Fede makes.

Part of me thinks that the low volume training we did under Slot impacted several of our players but it kept them available, I thought that perhaps if he was run into the ground in pre season by Iraola that he might get some of his speed and sharpness back but he's just as likely to break. Great song, one great goal but it's time to say ciao Fede

I agree with most of this, while he seems a nice guy and as a player works hard, he has never been the same player that he was before the injury, IMO we always took a punt on him, hoping that if he could get back to somewhere close to what he was we would have got ourselves a bargain, but that hasn't proven to be the case and it looks like Juventus knew what they were doing when they let him go.

I'd like to think he was being held back by how Slot was using him and that he wasn't being played enough etc but I honestly think that he just isn't at the level required (anymore). If he counted as HG maybe we could find a place for him in the squad but as he isn't and the non-HG places are limited I don't really see how we can afford to keep him around

His lack of pace out wide is a problem that can't really be worked around but he has quality and could maybe make a decent 10. Like how John Barnes made a decent 6 back in the day, albeit not defensively. Fede is unlikely to be a good enough 10 for us or anyone in the top half of the PL, because he would still lack pace, but he could do well in another league. Real shame as he does seem like a great character.
