Palace have had 9 shots on target, that's nuts.

Villa is massive. But it was before tonight anyway.

Surely he couldn’t survive another 3 losses on the bounce?

Seeing the full strength team that Palace put out its no surprise we struggled with a team consisting of mostly kids or subs. One or two of them with a team of first teamers wouldn't have been too much of a change, but...

Slots hand has been forced as we dont have team first team cover, and we have to put things right in the league.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

He'll get bombed out (in my opinion) if we don't make the top 4 (or top 5 if the Premier League gets an additional CL spot again). The recruitment dept. will also need looking at if things don't turn around.

another **** show. At least we made an effort with the second team under Klopp.

The problem is... the tactics are ****ed. Slot changed it up.from last deason. The answer would be to change it back.

We cant carry on as is, as this is absolutely dire. We just look clueless, and that transfers onto Slot.

We need not only a result... but a performance.

I get making tweaks with new players and to help fix weak areas but why go so far from what worked so well last season. Build on it don’t change it completely. He built on what Klopp left and made changes that worked so why completely change it up now?

I think the changes that we've made are only part of it, it is our inability to cope with the changes that others have made. I think we bought players to defeat the low block that we faced so often last season, but we're losing because teams are being more direct, more physical and more 'clever' at set pieces. We were anticipating a season of 70% possession and trying to play cleverly through the eye of a needle, but we're actually a team of piss streaks getting bullied all over the pitch.

                              Both probably.

To be honest I don't give a **** about the result tonight, given our hopeless form in the league recently I am happy we have given the first teamers the night off get some rest and get back to winning ways at the weekend.

Given the issues with injury, lack of squad options etc extra games in a bust period is not what we need, also if we are to make it through in the CL we would likely need a playoff so likely an extra couple of games there compared to last season.

You have to believe we can turn it around, as **** as we have been performance wise there are a couple of factors to take into account: of this **** run of form (before today which I am not counting as is was a reserve side) we 5 out of the last 6 have been away from home, there has been an international break, so the players have been almost always traveling not much chance to get a decent spell where they were at home and focused on getting the team together, establishing routines and so on. Add into that an element of bad luck - Palace score from a corner which shouldn't have been a corner, Man Utd's goal could have seen play stopped for the MacAllister head injury, you don't go 1-0 in those games maybe things work out differently, the penalty against Brentford again you could consider unlucky. Of course you can make arguements that you make your own luck or you shouldn't need luck or whatever, but when things are going against you **** happens, even just turning a couple of those defeats into draws of having a bit more confidence could have a big impact. We have to believe we can turn it around

We have Villa at home at the weekend which we really need to win, then a couple of big games against Madrid and City, but after that we have a fairly kind run of fixtures which we really have to be picking up some serious points in or our season is done.
