The 2 GK's on the bench trick just highlights what an absolute cunt Slot is tbh.

**** giving one of our super talented kids a spot on the bench and a taste of the first team.

No, **** that, put an extra keeper on the bench that offers us nothing

    God I hate this prick.

I agree about the 2 goalies though. Very annoying when you see that....

Ramsay has to start for me.

If he starts and plays brilliantly, then there will be genuine questions on Slot as to why it took this long??

We don't need him to be berilliant though, we simply need him to be serviceable and do a job. Remember a few years ago when we had an injury crisis at CB, Klopp tried Fab, Hendo and a even Gini I think at one point and all that did was **** two positions as opposed to one.

When we moved Nat and Rhys into CB who were much inferior than Fab and Hendo as players but specialists in their position then we could make them serviceable and not weaken midfield as well. Moving Dom to RB weakens our midfield massively and while he is a good RB he is not a natural there.

Just play the reserve or u-18 RB there and set the team up to protect them a bit more ffs

The Ramsay one is a tricky one, on the face of it we are missing out first 4 options at RB (Bradley, Frimpong, Gomez and Szoboszlai) he is a specialist RB so it feels like a no brainer.

He has had one decent performance for us this season, but you look at his record, he had played 39 games for Aberdeen when we signed him as a prospect. Since then he has had a couple of cup games for us and a series of loan games where he barely played Preston in the Championship (2 games) , Bolton (3 games) and Wigan (12 games) in League One and 8 games for Kilmarnock. His minutes across those 4 loan moves amount to 9.5 games. Add in his minutes for us and he's played about 12 games of first team football in 4 years. The brutal truth of the matter is he's not good enough, a series of managers don't rate him and he's probably only here because we couldn't get rid of him. Sad fact is it is an indictment of our squad that he is even on the bench so much.

Question is would a very limited RB be better than playing a better player out of position? You can see the arguement for having a better player on the pitch playing out of position when we are attacking Szoboszlai offers alot, when we are defending late in games at the weekend his positioning for the first goal shows that he is not a defender, these are the types of balance you have to make. Obviously Szoboszlai isn't available so you have to perform that evaluation on Endo or Jones vs Ramsay. I would be very suprised in Ramsay starts to be honest
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

These bullied us last time. They were far more physical than us. Given we've just hard another extremely hard game that ended in crushing defeat this game feels like the last thing we need.

Other point for discussion is who plays RB, Jones, Endo or Ramsay, and I think that is probably the order he picks them.

The bench will be absolutely ****e though, Robbo likely to be the only outfield player he trusts, plus Endo the other of Chiesa/Rio and Nyoni, maybe Ramsay 2 GKs and who knows who else

When you’ve got 2 matches a week you have to use the squad. FA Cup on the weekend we can hopefully rotate a few more & then start those we rest here.

FA Cup is bottom of our priorities Chiesa, Endo, Nyoni and Ramsay can start in that, but none of them will be able to play in both, need to go strong for this and rest people in the cup where possible - problem is squad is so small barely anyone will be rested.

Rest Gakpo here & play him down the middle in the cup in place of Hugo. Mo is possibly out for compassionate leave but could be available for the cup. Rest Macca & play him on the weekend so we’ve got a mix of experience with some youth.

Ramsay did well at Aberdeen and seemed to be on a good development trajectory, but his knee injury in early 2023 set him back, and he hasn't done that well on loan, with fitness issues being an underlying theme.

I do remember watching one of Bramdley's early games at home against Chelsea from the Anfield Rd stand, and thinking "oh that's what it's like to have a good defensive right back" instead of Trent. Maybe Ramsay could do a similar job for us as a more conventional RB to start with?

Konate appears to be through his difficult spell, and moving Dom (or Jones) back into midfield should be beneficial. I think it's worth giving Ramsay a chance.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

Yeah it’s basically saying to an outfield player I’d rather guard against 2 keepers going down than give you a game. Must be massively demotivating.

Slots soft skills and 360 awareness of what it takes to motivate a player seem to be massively lacking. He trusts a small core group, and if they don’t deliver then we’re ****ed.

Also it felt like Klopp motivated academy players by 'rewarding' them with places on the bench for European ties, you knew they probably weren't going to get on but, it kept them involved, interested, motivated or whatever, and gave the appearance of a path to the side. That has gone, in CL games we would rather have spaces on the bench than pick youngsters.

Yeah i totally agree Nev and I have been calling for him for a long time. I think i even called for him in the champions league games where he wasn't even registered to play!!!

But if he comes in for effectively his first proper chance under Arne and does well, then there are genuine questions on Slot and his managing of the squad. Because there have been loads of times that we could have used him ffs.

I hope he gets a chance but I reckon it will be Endo.

He’s what, 4th choice right back and he’s not getting picked. We’ll probably see one of the sub goalies playing RB ahead of him.

He had a massive reputation when he came in, a real talent then he was unlucky himself with a bad injury and then persona non grata with Slot.

                                5th choice

I don’t see the need for Slot to say this. And even if he is going to there are still ways where you can put a positive spin on things. It’s abysmal management.
